    • Banjo idol of the day is the legendary Dom Flemons on a 4-string, playing with Rhiannon Giddens and Malcom Parson in their 2005-2014 group, the Carolina Chocolate Drops. This vid goes hard af.

    • Dropping my SSRI by 5mg, part of the larger plan to drop the SSRI altogether since my SNRI and ADHD med seem to be controlling the diagnoses p well. Psychiatrist supervised; god bless people who have to  manage mental health without a professional, this world is fucking rough.

There’s no other heavy leg exercise I know of that I can do at home, that takes the load off the spine and is not fatiguing in the cardio sense at all. I should actually be thinking about what equipment to get for Munich, since we will probably move later this year.

Step ups? Perhaps step-ups while holding dumbbells? In theory step ups are a transitional exercise before moving to pistol squats, but that theory can fuck off. Step-ups also seem safer/more injury resistant to load heavy??

Group sex sounds too much like socialising. I might go out to tea or coffee places though.

You make many good points. Not to dwell overmuch on a topic un-comfy for some, it is nice to have a rare socializing thing where everyone is there for the same hobby, like a board game night. Mayhaps people still have individual preferences and styles at board game night, but there's a nicely limited set of social scripts to parse.

Fair. But "hand the plates, bob" is one sentence tho

This, also, is a good point, therefore Bob shall not be bean-bagged in the face. Bob shall, however. be tea-bagged. That is unrelated to our conversation thus far, but Bob is both consenting and severely into it.

Had another nice day of just doing what I felt like. I played my game. I gave Winnie a little spa day. I brushed her, clipped her nails and brushed her teeth (badly lol). We visited puppies. Watched an episode of the new walking dead show. I watched Winnie and Poncho wrestle in the mud 😂 ruining her nicely brushed coat. I tried to teach Winnie a new trick. And I was introduced to a new trick app called Puppr! Super helpful :) I'm now cooking something for Mr.Rs lunch tomorrow.

I'm happy to say that so far Poncho has been doing well with me slowly introducing his new food in. He's only getting about a tbsp in his kibble but he's quite happy to eat with just that added in :)

It's looking like tomorrow I'll need to drive Mr.R to the station and then I have my lesson in the morning.

Sounds like a lovely day! What game are you playing?

Understandable. The solution is to never allow any deviations from routine whatsoever, and control everything perfectly so nothing unexpected can ever happen to us. That will work. Yes. I will just tell everyone "no" to everything, as I have a daily 16-hour appointment with Nope and Sitting on the Sofa.

Legit, this was my December. The only people I saw were the two humans who live with me, and the handful of friends that I knew well enough to have them just walk in my house without knocking. I'm slightly more social now that spring is coming, but it still takes a craft fair, group sex, or a nice coffee shop to make me want to leave the house.

    1 hour ago, Harriet said:

Or alternatively, the friends could come over at the same minute every day, and be integrated into your workout, for example. HAND ME THE 20kg PLATES, BOB!

No. I hate it when people talk at the gym. Short friendly exchanges are fine, but there should be an employee with a beanbag gun at every gym. Whenever someone goes into a second sentence while talking with someone at the gym, beanbag to the face.

Vet called to reschedule the appointment to tomorrow. I struggled to understand because they spoke so fast. I am feeling brittle and overwhelmed. I know I have a tendency to get overwhelmed very easily, so I tried to reframe things this morning when thinking about the combination of gym, vet, and groceries. But the phone call upset me because I felt powerless, and Mr Harriet has been making a bunch of suggestions of things we have to do around the house, and now he has arranged to have painters come and fix the bad paint job from November, while he's not here. The reframing's usefulness is spent and I am feeling quite down.

Affirming that it's okay to not be okay, or; you are still valid while overwhelmed.

Would it be helpful if folks posted CBT type stuff? Also very okay if you just needed to vent and don't want input in return.

He rewarded me with praise for rendering clean playthroughs of John Hardy, and since no good deed goes unpunished, had us do 3/4 speed on both Foggy Mountain and John Hardy. they are fingering, each stripe is vaguely 9 rounds. I dont usually measure them that closely 😆. Thankfully they've all ended up the same length so far. Both where done in knitpicks pallette.
    These are a finished pair.

usually i dont wear them pulled down all the way though. They are more for wearing  as corking and insulation on the wrist. Good for stopping cold air leaking into jumper and coat sleeves.

Some positive notes to balance out my negative day:

1: I really like my rector. He is a good priest, and a good man. Those two things do not always coincide. I always feel better after speaking with him.

2: I really appreciate how flexible my office is. Was late coming in this morning, and it wasn't an issue. Went over to my church on my lunchbreak for altar guild stuff and ended up staying longer to speak with my rector, and it wasn't an issue. It's a very nice perk in the workplace.

3: I typed up a post for my class discussion forum and had to just sit back and go, "dang, that sounds good!" Turns out I might actually know something about this theology stuff, guys.

    All three sound wonderful!

You haz much wisdom! Sadly eBay’s average price is $3/ bottle, with bulk deals only down to $1/bottle. That’d be fine if I wanted 5-10, but i need more in the 50-100 range. Very happy that this other deal exists!

    • Miriam Stone / Elephant Stone is yet another franchised name for patterned jasper. It's pretty tho and I have some studs that I wouldn't hate matching with, plus the fun symbolism around writing, Lord Ganesh, and brown as a grounding color; it's a fun intersection. Sadly these are $2.16/strand, but I might spring for it anyway.

    • Kambaba Jasper is an opaque quartz with stromatolites, or fossilized remains of 3 billion year old cyanobacteria, included in the stone. Sexy as fuck. Also moderately expensive at $1.56/strand.

    • Lapis Lazuli has a bunch of nested meanings, but it also has a personal meaning between my ex-wife and myself, sorta the stone we exchanged to end our marriage and pledge a different kind of family relationship with each other. Buuuut when Laura had a beach trip with her ladies, I used the beads she gave me as the back segment of a multistrand lapis chip necklace for her as beachwear. It slayed, but now I need to replace them. And they're right on the cusp of spendy at $2.39/strand, but not so spendy that I think they're fake.

But the long and short of it, this lot of bottles might devour 50% of my budget, but at $0.09/bottle, it's hard to argue. And no, they sadly don't come in smaller lots. Any other ideas for sourcing affordable 0.5oz or 1oz brown bottles???

The hairdresser fixed my hair today. We lightened it up to the max level they thought was advisable for my hair type and skin colour. It's now what hairdressers call blonde and what ordinary people call light brown. Neutral to gold hue. I love it. He left a bit of a gradient at the top so it won't be super obvious as it grows out.

Now that you've done this once with the hairdresser, can you just ask for a repeat next time? This was a journey and I'm happy it ended well.
