  1. Like malcontent, I have yet to manage even ONE pull-up! Kudos on being so frank with yourself, especially the difficulty you're facing getting those pull exercises done. Have you thought about working on some inverted rows as a less intimidating start to get on your way? Good luck!!
  2. Bit late to the party, but just wanted to give a resounding "hell yeah!" to aiming to be more like Black Widow. You go girl!
  3. Ok. I'm a bit late, but I've been told it's better that way than never! I'm a 5'8, 23yr old girl from New Zealand. I have been traveling around the world with my partner since February this year, and have really been letting my health slide. It's been easy enough to make excuses - what with being on a super-tight budget, and living out of dorm rooms most of the year - but I'm taking a stand now and refusing to take my own shit any longer! Due to the whole 'living out of dorm rooms' thing, I don't actually know what my weight is at the moment, but I would hazard a guess at ~75kg? (Metric system FTW!) That means I also don't have a way to measure my weight progress, but after binge-reading a whole bunch of NF posts tonight, I don't feel like that's a huge disadvantage. Anyway, on to some concrete goals et al. As I alluded to in the title, my main goal is really to become more comfortable in, and in control of, my own body. I want to be able to be proud of my body, and to rely on it to be capable of a myriad of amazing things! However, I am a strange mix of goal-oriented and unmotivated, so I have decided I'm best to pick smaller, more achievable, and less vague main quests for now. So, then. My main quest: to feel happy wearing a bikini in time for Christmas (remember that's summer in NZ!) My sub-quests for this challenge: 1) Do SOME form of workout every day. Whether it's 20 star jumps before bed, or a full calisthenics workout. 2) Practice some form of balancing/headstand/handstand at least 3 times/week. (Core strengthening) 3) No. Sugary. Drinks. I used to be really good with this, but it's been one of the easiest things to just grab and go on this trip. (I do drink one quite sweet coffee/day, but I'll continue to allow myself that for now, as I get wicked headaches without it.) And that's it for now! I will be trying to keep to healthier eating habits as a whole, and am considering going at least part paleo in the future, but didn't want to bite off more than I can chew and back myself into a corner. I would love any comments or advice anyone has, I've honestly been very hit-and-miss with training in the past, so I guess I'm not always the best judge! Anyway, if you've gotten this far then thanks very much for reading!! I look forward to hanging out with ya'll in the forums!
