1. That would never make it across the border I limited my terms to things I can find at the local-government-controlled liquor store. I was actually surprised to find the winner of alcohol per dollar to be a beer and not hard liquor. That being said, over-proof rum came in at a close second Also; I do not enjoy vodka in the slightest, unless it reminds me of the rivers of blood that ran the day caesar died. We (as in my friends and I) made skittle vodka, but I won't even go there. As a warning to others, just because it tastes sweet and delicious does NOT mean it won't knock you on your arse.
2. ... Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and be a shallow prick. I just ingest copious amounts of caffeine prior to working out Kind of related to what other people though, because in my mind, all I can hear is FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
3. Yeah, all decision making stopped for me in terms of alchohol when I went all nerd on the budget factor. Thus, my drink of choice is now Holstein Maibock, for the simple reasoning of a) it doesn't taste like shit gives me the HIGHEST alcohol per dollar factor; however YMMV, as I live in the alcohol oppressed ontarion, canada Our beers cost less in the states as imports than they do locally...
4. From your recent posts, you sound like you're starting to burn out dude. You to take a break. From like, everything. I'm just saying I've noticed that you've been progressively getting more and more bummed out dude. A chill pill (in a good way) or two is in order.
5. Purposeful maintenance of ketosis isn't really all that necessary to lose weight, although some people swear by it. If your only goal is control of your blood sugar and insulin, you're probably better off just cutting out refined sugars. Ketosis tends to increase insulin resistance, so if you go keto for a few months and then try to eat carbs, your body won't have fun. In the end, just eat less crap and eat less in general. The weight will come off.
6. I'd suggest taking a day of SL out and put your interval training in then. It's really hard to train your legs five days a week normally, and impossible when you're also trying to lose weight.
7. Despite my former lack of posting in this thread, I'm officially heartbroken over the Patriots' loss. All that decidedly terrible eating, for nothing....
8. Someone with infinitely more nerdiness than me should put a timeline of this thread together. The only thing we haven't done is compare favourite brands of alchohol.
9. Second 67Alecto. Shaving in the shower or directly after is the best way to go. It's really a conundrum for modern day civilization. There seems to be an inverse relationship between suitability for having children and the pre-disposition to have children. Anyone who can solve this problem will save humanity. I say us manly-nerd-men should sow the wild oats and hope our offspring bring humanity a better tomorrow.
10. The fact that you have to call it red velvet whatever is alone an indication you probably shouldn't stuff it down your gullet
11. Don't say 22 please. I'm only a year out :/ Less, even!
12. All I have to add, and I think someone mentioned this indirectly; if you're really set on using a protein shake first thing in the morning, I'd suggest adding some stuff to it, namely a fiber supplement like wheat germ or psyllium husk and something with some fat in it. More balanced 'meal' = stay fuller longer. Whey by itself gets metabolized pretty quickly and won't actually keep you full for very long.
13. We're here for ya champ.
14. I'd say maybe and yes respectively. Alcohol levels are indicated in the blood. THC is metabolized differently depending on ingestion methods, so the vamp would get the whole body feeling similar to eating a weed brownie. How's that for a serious answer to a silly question
15. A few reasons: - Irish/scottish decendees will ALWAYS find a stray red hair or two. - Your soul is slowly disintegrating, turning you into a ginger. I'd reflect on current levels of hatred for your job and/or the people around you.
16. Carb flu is related to the onset of ketosis in the body. If, instead of eating up on carbs again for a part of every week, you champed through the pain, you would eventually stop feeling the effects.
17. You will never see any official papers on crossfit because it wouldn't make sense. Same as how you'll never see papers discussing this coach's method versus that one's, or comparing running to biking training or whatever. Crossfit was formed because the founder and whoever helped him set up the business examined papers on various aspects of exercise, and drew their own conclusions from it. Based on research examing energy synthesis, muscle growth, and system adaptations, you can literally come up with millions of different programs that all 'theoretically' work, so it doesn't make sense to test every single one. Designing programs is left up to trainers implementing the program, which is what crossfit does. That's also why you see so much variability in individual crossfit gyms. What you should really be looking for is a good coach/trainer that can do a good job helping you reach your goals, and your evidence is based in previous clients' experience. Whether the coach or trainer is a crossfitter as well is less important, as any general fitness trainer should be able to design something similar to crossfit anyway.
18. Pat, in the long run it really doesn't matter, as long as you keep seeing that number go up. The only part where it might mess you up is if you try to predict 1 rep max or anything like that, in which case you MUST include the bar.
19. I did EMS when I had lower back problems. I'm pretty much convinced it actually slowed my recovery... It was also VERY unpleasant. Me and electricity don't get along well.
20. The average age on NF I feel is probably low to mid 20's actually. Y'know, the internet savvy people And I cooooooooooould grow a beard. It's just so damn itchy. Almost did when we went through movember; just didn't shave. I'll stick with my chinstrap.
21. Jared, I'd suggest just reading allll the articles on the website and browse a looooooooooot of the topics here. Chances are that you find the answers you want, but it's difficult to answer all your questions when you're basically asking us things it took some of us years to learn.
22. Asmodeus: fair refusal. One last inquiry would be to look into genetics. Depending on parentals and race, you could just be seeing the natural fat patterning on your body. For example, being of caucasian decent, combined with a family history of diabetes, means that I'm pre-disposed to carry weight in my thighs and belleh. And lo and behold, should you look at any part of my body but those, you'd think I was a skinny sunuvabitch. But I'm not. Are all your caliper measurements staying consistent everywhere? and are you testing all possible sites?
23. Does it help that it actually weighs negative 45 pounds? All aussie jokes aside, does it ever boggle anyone else's mind that there are people LITERALLY upside down to you right now? Anyone? ... I'll excuse myself.
24. verin, I do believe kirst is female she can be a bro any day tho Welcome to NF!
25. He ate stars and became INVINCIBLE. Although fat.
