aramis
Jan. 4th Running: 5km dirt road, 29min (5min 48sec pace). Tried new forest route. Got lost a bit and needed to take two stops to check my map and find where am I. Without it, my pace would be probably better, but even like this, I take it as a win It's nowhere near this catastrophe from last week, pace wise and comfort wise. Of course, there were parts where I felt extra tired, but at least I had enough air to breathe. All in all, it was a good run FPP d5 - done (5,5,4,3,2) Food: OK. 1 Quote I absolutely CAN run on caffeine and hatred. But only with a dash of milk. aramis
Jan. 6th Updated workout plan: Mon. - FPP ladder + 15min Burpees Tue. - FPP ladder + 15min skipping rope Wed. - FPP ladder + Kettlebell full body workout + inverted body rows Thu. - FPP ladder + 15min skipping rope Fri. - FPP ladder + 15min Burpees Sat. - FPP rest day + 5K forest run Sun. - fully rest day Workout: FPP: d7 done (6,5,4,3,2) I'd lie saying I did first set of 6 reps in one go, but I was close. It took me two deep breaths on a deadhang (no touching the floor) before sixth pullup. Was hard as heck, but it went all the way up Burpees: 15min, 90 reps. Looks like I've hit a wall here - no progress in over a month. I hope cranking up my cardio with a skipping rope will carry over to some progress here. 1 Quote I absolutely CAN run on caffeine and hatred. But only with a dash of milk. aramis
Jan. 7th Workout: FPP: d8 done (6,5,4,3,3) I felt weaker than usual and rested in deadhang for couple of deep breaths between every two reps. Didn't touch the floor while in-set resting though, so I count it as a win. Later at home I took a jump rope and played with it for 15 min. Turns out I learn quite fast. Mortimer
For jump ropes I tend to make 2 tiny skips before the main jump. I think it may waste energy and slow the number of skips I can do but I haven't been able to train it out Used to be able to skip with my hands crossed, but I've lost that ability now. I can do one leg skips still I think. FPP looks great, but unfortunately I'm still trying to work out a proper pull up =( 1 Quote Link to comment

Mortimer
Grats on burpees improvement =D There's a tough mudder race going on in June here but I'm considering not going for it as I don't know if I may be expecting by then so...anyway I think tough mudder in terms of difficulty may be lower then Spartan? Hmm I don't run off road much but I think if the ground gets too slippery (I. E on nature reserve), I refuse to run and will slow to a walk. Yeah I'm wimp. Quote Link to comment

And it's lots of fun jumping over puddles, working on balance and prediction where to land a foot. Quote I absolutely CAN run on caffeine and hatred. But only with a dash of milk. Mortimer
Yeah hopefully things come as normal this month without me getting sick(I generally get reduced immunity during that period of time). I checked tough mudder out - Spartan is more of a solo thing while tough mudder you need a team. I don't think I would have a problem finding a team if I really wanted to (I know a whole bunch of fitness buddies from the local groups), and they know I won't let them down either. Probably some of the wall scaling might be more difficult for me due to my lack of reach, but I can sort of see during drills that I'm more flexible then most people are(thanks, rock climbing!) unless they practice Yoga. That is flexibility to another level already. 1 Quote Link to comment
