Mortimer
I'm trying to go for 1 more rep per week on each of my squats, overhead presses and bench presses but I think it may be a little unrealistic. I guess if I can't do it then I spend another few more sessions at same reps. Once I hit 8 reps then I progress to the next weight at 4. 1 Quote Link to comment

Mortimer
Aramis if you feel like crap that many days in a row, just give yourself a break and get more sleep. One thing about turning myself into a gym rat is that generally I am granted quick recovery from common illnesses and don't even get sick much. I throw off whatever ails me in a day or so, so since you didn't - it might be an indication of something more serious. 1 Quote Link to comment

aramis
Hey, I'm getting better. In most cases I'm throwing infections off in no time as well. Why it hit me harder this time? No idea. Guess riding a motorcycle for 30 minutes in pouring rain without proper rain gear isn't something my body can manage off the bat. Anyway - I'm feeling better so I hope I'll be well in no time. But about today Oct. 3rd S&S routine (with some extra rest between sets) 10x10 one arm swings 32 kg 1min rest 4x1 Turkish Get Up 32 kg 6x1 Turkish Get Up 24 kg Quote I absolutely CAN run on caffeine and hatred. Mortimer
Ok good to hear that you're feeling better. I do occasionally run in the rain - not by choice - but more like the, when you're a turtle trying to clock long distances, you take ages to do it. And of course the longer you're out, the more likely it starts to downpour on you. I was joking with my running group that I've got a portable raincloud following me around. Since for 2 Saturdays in a row I've had to abort my original run plans due to downpours. Drizzle generally I'll ignore and keep running - but for downpours I will seek the nearest shelter (may be 10-15 min away), and hide out the storm. 1 Quote Link to comment
aramis
Heh, running in drizzle is fun, riding through it on a bike, like 80-90 kilometers per hour isn't. Without good rain gear (I don't have) even drizzle feels like thousands of tiny needles piercing through skin. Anyway... Oct. 5th S&S routine (with some extra rest between sets, but less than last time) 10x10 one arm swings 32 kg 1min rest 6x1 Turkish Get Up 32 kg - back on track! 4x1 Turkish Get Up 24 kg Quote I absolutely CAN run on caffeine and hatred. aramis
Oct. 7th Due to unfortunate events I wasn't able to do my S&S routine. My dog had an epilepsy attack and taking care of her was number one priority. Later in the evening though I managed to squeeze in 10 GetUps - all done with 32kg kettlebell. Probably I was bit too greedy with this, because just before bed I moved in some strange way and tweaked my back... Now I'm walking like Robocop Quote I absolutely CAN run on caffeine and hatred. aramis
She is a senior dog, over 17, and this is probably due to hers age. Got some pills and we'll need to see how it develops. Mortimer
17 years for a dog is like 85 years for a human. Would yoga help with back aches? Though I'm not very well versed with it so I have no idea what poses would help - bridge? 1 Quote Link to comment
aramis
Considering yoga - I do (gently, slowly and cautiously) some poses - cat/cow, upward/downward dog etc. Anything involving flexing and extending lower back. And some twisting. Seems it helps. I found the back hurts only in about 1/4 range of motion when bending forward, from about 35-40 degrees of torso inclination downwards. Above and below this angle range I'm good - so if I support myself through this, I can touch ground on straight legs with no pain. Quote I absolutely CAN run on caffeine and hatred. Mortimer
I found that climbing helped with my running aches and pains which I think is due to the stretching component so I thought some stretching might help for you. I mean you probably can't get to a rock wall so the closest stretching for you is yoga. 1 Quote Link to comment
aramis
HA! Did my S&S routine! Not with full load though as swings strain lower back, but nevertheless I did it Oct. 12th S&S routine (regular timed) 10x10 one arm swings 16 kg (needed to go this low as even 24kg made my back hurt) 1min rest 2x1 Turkish Get Up 24 kg - this set was a recon if I can do it, or need I to go lower in weight 2x1 Turkish Get Up 32 kg - heavy artillery 6x1 Turkish Get Up 24 kg - going easy, not to injure myself any further by being too greedy Anyway, despite drastic drop in weigh shoved around I'm happy I healed enough to get back to my routine.
