What did you do? What did you wear? If you didn't go do you think it was the right choice? Any information is fine and this weekend I'll post back with my results of prom. shortstuff Posted June 3, 2013 Report Share Posted June 3, 2013 At the school I went to, we call it Grad.As I went to a religious school, we had a mass where we were handed a certificate than went to a hall where we had dinner with our parents, and we got placed on a table with a friend and their parents. The teachers were also there.There was music so we could dance, and we all got really dressed up just like at a promMost people partied on and than went to a after party. But I had to work the next day so I didn't stay too late. I swear only having five hours of sleep and working 11 hours nearly killed me, but I'm glad I went. It was a really nice night. The DJ both times was boring and I ended up just standing there doing his job. Nobody danced. Everyone just kind of sat around. I think part of it is I was homeschooled so most of the kids were quiet and didn't want to do anything in front of their parents who ran it. Personally, I say just be yourself, let loose, dance, have fun. All it took was two people (myself and another guy) doing the chicken dance to get people to join and start laughing. My junior prom was a harbour cruise so I didn't mind just sitting and enjoying the view there. As for what I wore, I had a suit that I used. I was in a community orchestra so I just wore what I wore to perform. Miss you - and hope your playthrough of ME is still going well. As for my prom, I also went to both my junior and my senior (and went my sophomore year as a date *pretends to be a popular nerd*). Both times I went with friends because I somehow managed to find myself single around important holidays and dates. The friend I went with for junior was a really close friend, and we had a freakin' blast together. Senior year? Not so much. My date wasn't much for dancing. What really made my prom were the friends I was with. Both years I had a large group of friends who had no qualms about being silly together on the dance floor. And afterwards we did crazy non-dangerous/risky things (like bowling in our gowns and tuxes! Fantastic way to end the night). As for clothing, I went the full nine yards, being girly as hell. I don't regret going at all - but if it weren't for my friends I probably would've been miserable (like when I was an upperclassmen's date - he went to the private school nearby and I knew almost no one there. Duality Posted June 3, 2013 Report Share Posted June 3, 2013 Well I'll do a TL;DR version, also involves sex and such so I put it as a spoiler, I can remove it if needed xD Found a date (an grade 10 ex girlfriend), bought her 13 oz of vodka, bought myself 13 oz of tequilla.Prom night, prom goes boring, she's was boring as hell.got home, started changing, she tells me that her mom is coming to pick her up cause she has an eye exam Saturday morning.I leave alone for the after party (with both bottle of hardstuff)I get to the party, my grade 11 ex-girlfriend asks where was my date, told her, we made out. I then made out with her friend and us 3 we swapped a few kisses.After that I had gone through the tequilla and vodka was going great, things started to get hazy (I remember only sections after that)after that I remember being by the fire, with a chick on both my lapsthen I remember being in a tent with my best friend, threesomeing his ex.then I remember me, a bud with each a girl in the morning, him rubbing a hand blindly, ended up being mine, i then yelled Travis, he was like, oh fuck sorry bud.Then I left, with one of the worst hangovers ever at noon the next day. cline Posted June 3, 2013 Report Share Posted June 3, 2013 I went to SR prom all 4 years of high school (yeah okay revoke my nerd status whatevs) I had a blast every year. Best years were years I went with a super good friend, less best when I went with boyfriend (but it was still fun). best advice I can give is: it is not the most important night of your life. It's not. It's just a big party with fancy clothes. your only big expectations should be to eat well, look fantastic, and dance all night. You'll get to see everyone looking amazing and having fun. Fun is the key. FUN FUN dance dance dance and hang out with a fun group of people. It makes the night wonderful. Best things I did after prom: after prom parties/activities. Worst thing: not going to after prom party one year. They are a lot of fun and are not lame. I wore regular old prom dresses. Oh and get your picture taken. It's worth it. Prom was fun. It was awesome. I went with a "date", but really, he was just a part of our group of friends, and a year younger so we wanted him to be able to go with us. Didn't have a date for my senior prom, so I wore a homecoming dress from year prior and went with three of my closest HS friends, had a good time. But we had a much funner time the next day, we went to the beach and Balboa Island and rode rides and drank lots of coffee and goofed around shopping in expensive Newport Beach shops.
