Parkour for Pensioners- is this the best idea ever?

Recommended Posts

A parkour group in South London have started doing free parkour sessions for the over sixties in an effort to increase their mobility and give them confidence, what a fantastic idea! It looks like it's pretty stripped down to cater to their older customers but it gets them practicing balancing and jumping over small objects like park benches and gets them out of their homes and socialising in a much healthier way than just sitting down and drinking endless cups of tea and scoffing biscuits.

Just ignore the idiots in the comments section though...

I actually did some very low-grade parkour when I went canal-boating with the in-laws.  A lot of it was walking across one-foot boards with a handrail, but they were usually wet.  There was also a point where we had to climb a chest-high wall, drop onto a canal boat, shimmy several feet on the narrow ledge that runs along the boat, then transfer from that to a floating platform.  We observed some people having to travel quite a distance by creeping on a guard rail because we flooded the towpath.  If MiL had said "but I'm over sixty," she would have missed out on the fun.

I have conditions that affect my social awareness.  If I am rude, tell me what I could do better.
