mst3kharris Posted September 10, 2014 Report Share Posted September 10, 2014 Hi! I posted here once before but I think I came across as kind of a jerk, for which I apologize. (Please don't go back and read that post; I'm embarrassed about it.) I've grown some since then and I'm working on getting my life together. I'm starting with trying to develop more consistent healthy habits. I've taken some big steps in getting my sleep to be consistent, so now I'm focusing on exercise. Because I have a lot of difficulty developing and maintaining new habits, I'm aiming right now at doing two running sessions a week. I know that's not nearly enough for any real development, but I'm trying to take it slow so I don't overwhelm myself. If I went about this the way I went about most things I'd be trying to do everything I want to do at once and I know that hardly ever works out. So right now my goal is to run twice a week for a month then move up to three times a week. Then I'll set about figuring out how to keep running when it's chilly and snowy out. My ultimate goal is to run a 5k with my best friend next spring! She's going to run one at the end of October but I'm not sure I can be ready by then. I'm hoping this will help me feel less exhausted and wheezy every time I do something like mow the lawn or shovel snow. I'm also hoping it will reduce my blood pressure, which shows signs of creeping up. It's also supposed to be good for my ADHD, and Lord knows I can always use help with that. So, hi!
