Minna
I'm a 44yo woman looking for a NF buddy. I'm respawning after a couple years away, and am focusing on improving my mental health, losing weight, eating better and getting stronger — so everything, I guess... I have a habit of taking on too much at once and then getting discouraged and quitting. I really don't want to do that this time. In the end, I'd like to feel good about my body and what it can do—and not let depression and anxiety rule my life. And if I improve my archery skills and learn the bo staff, so much the better! 1 Quote Level 10 Ranger | RespawnedChallenges 1 2 3 4 5 6 | Peers: Chronologically Blessed Link to comment
Trixie Falsae
Hi! I totally get taking on too much as once. Somehow I power through but I tend to look back and wonder what I was thinking! I'm 32 and basically working on everything at once as well. Good Luck! 1 Quote Mama Gnome, Healer and Crafter Keeper of the Five Hobbits All Around Awesome Link to comment
Skya
I live in southern Vt, near Manchester, and am a respawn after a couple of years away too. At 60 I'm healthier than most but that's not good enough. I am looking to get tough enough to withstand mud season, strong enough to live forever and feel good about it along the way. Space_Elf
I'm happy to be a buddy. I'm focused on mental health as well and I do get overambitious with challenge goals. Drop me a PM if you're still interested. 1 Quote Space_Elf, Fallohide Hobbit Level 0. Minna
Hi everyone - I haven't been online in ages and am so glad that you replied! Sounds like we could all use a NF mental health buddy. Would any of you like to create a group, either here or on Facebook, that focuses on mental health? I've stopped doing the regular challenges because they set off all my anxiety alarms - as supportive as everyone was, it felt to me like an unintentional popularity contest. I never had the mental/emotional bandwidth to be as involved in other people's challenges as most of my other guildmates, so it was hard to build my friend-base and feel like I was contributing at all. I'm restarting my fitness routine (again) but won't be joining a challenge. Let me know what you think - I'm happy that you all responded and hope we can help each other! FieryJude
Hey @Minna, welcome back! I'd be up for a fb group. I think so long as you have your own goals/ challenges you don't necessarily have to follow the others, especially if they cause lots of anxiety! Set small goals that you can achieve with some work, and celebrate your wins! Quote Link to comment
