spezzy
This forum is new! The goal here is to create an area for us to create smaller clubs or communities within the forums, and allow more flexibility outside of the traditional NF guild system as well - with the technology we currently have This will work similarly to the old Adventure Parties and PVP Challenges section. And actually, I've hijacked it and repurposed it for this! So you will see older threads in here. How this works: We will have 3 types of threads in this forum - Guilds, Clubs, and Adventure Party/PVPs. When you create a thread here, tag it with what it is. You can add additional tags to add additional descriptors. These threads are not meant to be individual topics or individual questions - that is meant for the Rebellion Training Headquarters. These are larger threads that cover a general discussion topic. Example: "High Protein Vegan Recipes" would go in the Nutrition section of the forums. However, we could make a club that is "Rebels who are Vegans" or a PVP that is "Hit your protein target every day PVP" where you challenge other members of the rebellion to hit protein amounts and you use that thread to check in with each other on that specific goal. I recommend not getting too niche with your topics, especially with challenges, if you want higher participation. For example, with the above, if you have a small group of rebels that are vegans focusing on hitting their protein goals, and want to limit it to that small group, that's absolutely fine - but if you want higher participation and more challengers, it might be worth opening it up to all protein sources, or to vegetarians as well, to widen the available challenger pool. An admin will tag all guilds, clubs, and pvps with a prefix that goes BEFORE the thread name after it is posted. A prefix looks like this (the blue pvp before the name) - and you can click on it if you want to sort the page and ONLY see PVPs (or clubs, or guilds, depending on the prefix you click on) So, let's talk about each individual type and what they mean: GUILDS: Right now we don't have individual sections of the forum for each guild, but have general chat threads for each guild. I've created these to start. These are our official Nerd Fitness guilds. You can see full guild descriptions and examples in this thread. You don't have to do anything official to join a specific guild. You are allowed to multi-class, or be in multiple guilds (whatever you'd like to call it ). If you want to update your guild crest in your profile, you can find out how to do so here. While you can not create your own guild, you can create clubs, Adventure parties, and PVP's. Here are some examples of guild-related clubs or PVPs: Warrior's Powerlifting Competition Scout's Biking Club Druid's daily yoga challenge So let's talk about clubs, adventure parties, and pvps! CLUBS: These are threads that span a specific topic and are for people interested in that topic. This topic does not need to be fitness related. If there are rules to join, or a signup sheet, the original poster must include them in the initial post. Please remember to follow all forum rules or your club will be shut down - you can not restrict membership in a club to a specific subset of friends, unless the only thing that separates those friends from everyone else is a shared interest or desire to complete a goal together. Note: 2023 examples that would be great for 2024: The Great Reading Thread of 2023 Great Gardening Thread of 2023 Artificer's Crafthall This means if you have ever wished we had a guild on a different topic - create a "club". If it is related to a specific guild, tag it with both club and the name of the guild! ADVENTURE PARTIES & PVPS: This is when you and a group of people are doing something together, either as a group or as a challenge against each other. I'm using the prefix "PVP" for all including adventure parties - if we find we want to split them out into two prefixes, we can do that too. Walk to Mordor and Back in 2023 No-Spend Summer! (July 23 - September 2, 2023) Many span the full year, but some span a single challenge or season. Same with clubs - if there are rules to join, or a signup sheet, the original poster must include them in the initial post. Please remember to follow all forum rules or your club will be shut down - you can not restrict membership in a club to a specific subset of friends, unless the only thing that separates those friends from everyone else is a shared interest or desire to complete a goal together. That's it! If you have any questions, post below. This is very much an experiment to see if we can build on what we are already doing, and if it grows we can grow this along with it 14 Quote I'm no longer an active member here.
