    • Oh, wow. Yeah, that will definetly do them in. Im thinking horticultural fleece as well as garage.  theyre mediteranean so can do dry cold. But i think -40’c is pushing it    I need this in my life. Sadly i have to get most of my supplies online. Nothing beats browsing nice stationary and art shops
    • They’re actually ok now , thankfully. Think i got the aloe on them fast enough.    Thanks. Seemed sensible. If I've learnt one thing from the CFS, its that you have to listen to your body and take your own needs into consideration. Sometimes goals are just unmanageable, for whatever reason, and thats fine. There is always next week.
    • Traveling can be an expensive endeavor, and baggage fees can add up quickly, often catching travelers off guard. Swiss Airlines, like many other carriers, has specific baggage policies that, if not adhered to, can result in additional costs. However, with some strategic planning and savvy packing, you can avoid these fees and ensure a smooth journey. Here are some tips to help you navigate Swiss Airlines’ baggage policies and avoid unnecessary expenses.
    • Lots of rebels on vacation this challenge! I hope it's a good one and re-entry to the ' real world' goes smoothly. 😁   Following along!
    • Hey there, nice to see you back. Sorry about all the health issues, can't even imagine how rough it must have been, or probably still is. Take it easy and take care of yourself, the rest will come eventually.
    • I've set the robot vacuum to do an evening run of the house daily, so it's freshly swept by the time I come home from work. That mostly takes care of the cats part. The real issue, in this summer heat especially, is the dishes, the smell and potential to attract cockroaches. Also re:laundry, I ran out of fresh underwear 😮   Thursday update Started the day with a nice walk to city hall, where I applied for my wedding permit, basically a certificate of no impediment. Should be out by next Friday and in the meantime I've arranged to sort out a few additional papers they asked me for, to be submitted upon receipt. I've been meaning to do this for a while, but was waiting to combine it with some out-of-office chore they'd ask me to see to. That said, I went to do my work task after city hall, which had me coming to the office around 11. That's six hours of office time, not bad. Took it easy at work, mostly overseeing things rather than proactively doing new stuff. Everyone was super eager to leave at 17:00 and it's not like I have keys if I wanted to stay past that (spoiler: I didn't) so I left with the pack. Grabbed some groceries on the way back but wasn't feeling super homey, so I spent a good chunk of time unwinding and playing the new TEW public beta. Chopped up the remaining watermelon with some feta for dinner and actually did some stuff before bed, like a laundry run of the underwear and a wash of the dishes. Had a call with my lovely fiance who I can't wait to see again in person and then promptly fell asleep, as I had to wake up early the morning after. It's quite impressive how life feels when you're not living it pedal to the metal all the time.
    • It’s been a rough couple of years. I was born with a heart condition called atrial fibrillation that landed me in the hospital a couple of times when I was younger, but a couple of years ago it got a lot worse. After multiple ER visits, ambulance rides, a few hospital stays and I don’t know how many cardioversions, the doctors decided it was time for an operation called catheter ablation. The doctor wasn’t able to finish the first one because things just went badly. I was sent home until I healed enough for a second attempt. I spent three months barely able to work and then a month basically in bed. I could barely get across the room. Second time it worked but I didn’t bounce back like everyone said I would. In May I finally started feeling better and started to exercise again. A month ago I tripped and fell and twisted my back. It’s still not great but is finally better.  Anyway, I need to exercise and I’m afraid to. Afraid that my back will give out, it’s still hurting after that fall. And I am discouraged because I am in such bad shape after two years of not exercising because my heart was not working properly.   Goals:    Exercise every day. I was walking a mile before I fell, I’m scared to go that far from home now for fear my back will give out. A mile is about 2000 steps. So for now it’s just going to be in circles, outside if the weathers okay, not venturing too far from home. Also a basic body weight routine. My job involves heavy lifting and I have lost so much of my strength it’s pathetic.  I have been doing my back exercises so continue them and add pushups, squats, lunges, calf raises, get ups (sit on the floor and get back up). Four reps of each to start out (afraid of hurting myself).   Food:   Eat meals, not snacks.  If it’s in the house I will eat it. So stop buying so many treats, no, just stop buying treats and bringing them home. Period. Stock up on healthyish frozen dinners, some fruit. Limited (single serving) treats allowed when on the road.   Drink lots of water. One of my meds requires I drink lots of water. I have some fear to overcome and need some discipline in the grocery store.  Had my last follow up last week. No more until February. After months of appointments almost every week, it feels so good.
    • Oh, I would love the opportunity to go a Y again. I have a little bit of envy. I think you absolutely should get involved there. I would give it six months and see if you can make it there once a week for something to test the waters. I expect once you get yourself going you’ll be there more often, especially if you thrive in group workout situations like you mentioned. And having access to a pool in the hot weather and then a hot tub (I imagine they have one in there somewhere? You didn’t say, but I’d be surprised if there wasn’t one) for the cold months? Boon!    We could even do it as a mini challenge if you wanted! You could go to the Y and I could lift on the same day and then we could check in with each other? I could mail you cute stickers or something as rewards for hitting goals? Just spitballing here, but there are lots of ways to incentivize this if you want it!!
    • Love your paint colors!!! I'm excited for you (and to see progress pics?) 😁   Your day does sound magical! ❤️
