Even if it has 100 mph winds, I have to go to work or face being written up for unscheduled time off and I have to count the hours out of vacation time.So I have batteries, tinned food, propane, water..... The car is not properly fueled, especially for use as a low-grade food-warmer.I've been meaning to sort the freezer for months, but I've also been throwing my water-filled rum bottles in there for much longer. (Shatterproof plastic, seems to be holding up.) I have conditions that affect my social awareness. And I might have to go to work tonight leaving spousal unit to deal with storm alone. They are closing AC casinos and bridges to islands at 3p.I'm still in MD. Wind has picked up and water is starting to move swiftly. Leaving soon, hitting store, buying tinned goods and batteries, going home to prep house and kitties.... Command centr opens at 6 p.I can now live on my second or third floor for 4 days. Honestly, I have been through a. Hurricane before and spent years in tornado alley... I'm kinda worried tonight. Of course, I'm in print production, so most clients already think I'm the devil.Oddly enough, my work sent me home and questioned my sanity for taking the train into work. I think I've lived in a bad economy for too long. I was baffled that my workplace might actually care more about my life than about my job getting done today. That's a strange feeling. ellystar Posted October 29, 2012 Report Share Posted October 29, 2012 Rain hasn't been too bad here in Central Massachusetts. It's really, really windy though. Haven't lost power yet. I'm at work, but I only live a mile and a half away so it's easy for me to get here. If lose power, I'll likely stay here overnight because they have a generator. Sucks having clients all over the country. They still rely on us, storm or no storm. But it's also been very quiet so they've been leaving us be, probably thinking we closed for the day.
