    • Reminds me a bit of Metallica. Then the vocals went on for a bit and it reminded me of Volbeat. Digging the comic book aesthetic of the video too, I'll look into them, thanks for the suggestion!
    • Was almost close to the milestone on Friday, but now I've hit it, made it to Weathertop (Amon Sul) where the Nazgul attack, injuring Frodo before Strider (Aragorn) chases them off with fire and steel. Listening to the audiobook and almost keeping up with where my walking is at, made me realize as I watch this scene again that this is the first time the Nazgul actually see the Ring, confirming its existence and that Frodo does indeed carry it. Also, for a slightly deeper dive into the lore (courtesy of the top comment in that video, I'm not as knowledgeable or caring tbh), that mountaintop, "Amon Sul, was the key in a series of defenses held by the Dunedain (Aragorn's ancestors) against Angmar (the witch king's forces), and the Dunedain finally broke when Angmar's forces surrounded Amon Sul and crushed them, killing their king and paving the way for the end of the Dunedain kingdoms. Here, one of the last Dunedain defends the broken watchtower where his ancestors were crushed, from the Nazgul who crushed them. Kind of explains why he chose it as their refuge, and why he defended it with such mad ferocity."
    • Challenge Day 12: Friday, June 28th   Nutrition Weight: 94,3kg (+0,9 kg). Already, those pizzas are making their presence felt. Fasting: Had lunch but skipped dinner, as I wasn't hungry and also went to a concert. Putting this up as 22 hours, although it was probably more like 23. Out of the day's 24, that is. I type this on Sunday at 10 in the morning and I still haven't eaten anything. Tracking: Got groceries delivered and my butcher also runs a grill house, throwing in a complementary serving for any orders of 20€ or above. My app estimates that meal at 522 cals, which was my total for the day. Walked a little under 4.000 steps and had 6 glasses (1,5L) of water.   Walking 5,5km of walking apparently, which is more or less going to work and back.   Sleep Pretty sure I got 6 hours instead of the usual 5,5.   Non-tracked things: DuoLingo and Album of the Day done.     Challenge Day 13: Saturday, June 29th   Nutrition Weight: 93,4kg (+0,3 kg) Fasting: Broke this an hour early, which brings me up to 15 hours. Tracking: I'd made an unispiring wrap with leftover chicken/pork bits, cabbage and mayo, some 700cals according to my app. So of course I came back home hungry, with no supplies or will to cook and got me two 8-piece pizzas instead. There was nothing left for the morning after and even though I logged something on my app for the habit's sake, I'm not going to dare and assume a number, just know I was probably well above the limit.  Steps were a little over 6.600 and water at 6 glasses (2L).   Walking 3,1km covered. Was almost close to the milestone on Friday, but now I've hit it, made it to Weathertop (Amon Sul) where the Nazgul attacks, injuring Frodo before Strider (Aragorn) chases it off with fire. Listening to the audiobook and almost keeping up with where my walking is at, made me realize as I watch this scene again that this is the first time the Nazgul actually see the Ring, confirming its existence and that Frodo does indeed carry it. Kind of explains why he chose it as their refuge, and why he defended it with such mad ferocity."   Sleep Went to bed pretty early considering I was out for the gig and with Sunday dawning, I got in a full 8 hours of sleep   Non-tracked things: Missed DuoLingo (so I guess it automatically used a streak freeze) and  didn't get to listen to the Album of the Day, but I was already one album ahead so all I had to do was post the comments I'd already written a day prior.
    • These are some great goals!   Do you use an app to track sugar?
    • The art style looks very familiar, so does the premise after I googled it.   Thanks LB. Some things we can take for a given, so I appreciate the perspective.    Well not "go do this thing" necessarily. That's for when your game is about more or less running through a main narrative. Even if the game is meant to be a sandbox driven by player action and initiative, you need to communicate that something is a prompt that could be further explored. If we're running every single dialogue almost in real time, how am I supposed to sift through the information of what's small talk and what's a hook for further exploration? Especially after a day of 10+ work hours and a session with my therapist. I'm probably having a chat with him about this, he actively asks for my feedback lot of the time and really appreciates my opinion (he's also openly praised me as a great GM of 20+ years to other people which kinda shocks me every time) so I guess much of this "rant" is me thinking out loud and typing my thoughts trying to get them in order for when it's time to talk about this.   I wasn't aware of these things, but I do drink as much water as I can to also keep my stomach full so it doesn't think it's hungry. I recently also learned that caffeine can turn down the sense of hunger a little bit, so I make sure I spread out my consumption of coffee (or the occasional sugar free energy drink) to help me with that.   Whadya mean hint hint, I've been on it since I discovered there's an accountability group for it (and before that I used a personal copy of an older version where we'd done "Hike to Mordor").   Breaking this up into 2 posts to avoid wall of text, since I didn't post an update yesterday.
    • This has been the most chill day for me in months. And I got so many arts and crafts done. I did finish this art piece with ink and it's frame. 😍😍😍😍   And that even with hours spent binging the updated Terra Nil. 😲 There's new terrain areas to explore and new mechanics for the animals returning to the landscape, but it's already such a beautiful game, and I'm excited to approach it anew once again. 🥰🥰🥰
    • Me, neither! They're right up there with Hotshot crews and smoke jumpers in terms of fitness and the difficulty of the jobs they do.
    • ...again.   Usual excuses, life got in the way etc. I've been coasting with very little exercise and attention paid to my diet, and it's been... fine, y'know? Like my body seems to hover at a certain weight and doing everyday stuff isn't difficult... but then I go for an impromptu mountain hike with some friends, and it's mostly fine on the day but then I can't walk right for the next week. That's not fun. So let's try make the next hike less onerous. With baby steps, because life is still in the way.   Goals for 1 to 7 July 1) Sneak in some exercise. I have my own office now so I can shut the door and do some squats or similar. Might do a lap of the building during lunch. 2) Track sugars. This was the biggest factor when I was most successful with weight loss. 3) Choring at home. Tidy a surface or reorganise a drawer. Something small to maintain a clean and sensible home.
    • Beautiful pics and such cute puppers! That stack of cards is eeeeepic.    Hope the poison itching is starting to ease for you by now.
    • Cool new challenge! And great start on unsticking and getting some points!
