    • Monday - Week 4 Day 1 Back on it a bit yesterday.   Crossfit was a little boring unfortunately - a half hour workout of rowing, burpees, and shuttle runs.   Work was ok - busy and full of meetings as Mondays often are.   Food was tracked - I probably didn't need 3 mini bakewell tarts when I got home, but WW had bought them and I wanted them. Other than that I was fairly restrained, and she made a lovely paella for dinner.   Did a bit of journaling, just really writing out my plans for what I do if I get a job offer, and depending on what the job offer is.   Also did a bit of mini painting - not entirely sure if I've fixed the skin tone on this one, but it's as good as it's gonna get. While I was painting we watched some Critical Role. We're on campaign 3, finished episode 77 and started ep 78 - all the emotional trauma!   4/4 for the day.
    • Thanks mate!     Chorizo is always good, although the gherkins really made an impact over everything else in that sandwich. The pasta is something I cooked at some point in the past and put in the freezer. I don't know when, and I can only hazard a guess as to the ingredients.
    • I'll have a gif from the movies to post sometime this week. And I'm relatively close to an entire sequence of gifs... 😇
    • Haven't updated here in a while, but after my km/miles miscalculation I have now properly made it to the Weathertop milestone and a few days past that. How's everyone else doing?
    • ...and then you need even more yarn, so you actually have some to craft with... 😅
    • Darn, that gif misses the best part of that scene:     (I love that movie 😁)
    • My usual route is just over 7.5 km (4.7 mi). Takes me about 1 hour 20-to-25. 20 minutes to walk from my house to the park, 40-45 minutes to circle the lake, 20 minutes back.     Walk to Mordor   Distance walked last week: 13.83 km (8.59 miles) Road to Mordor: total 1280.2 miles - Lothlórien to Rauros - Feb. 25 - Day 10 since Lothlórien - Brief, heavy rain. Or rather: a long period that registered as "awake" near the morning. Don't recall it, though. Nothing that a little coffee won't cure at the office... 😇 A colleague had her birthday during the holidays, and there are treats. But we had dinner rather early yesterday evening because of the kids' football practice sessions, so I basically just have to hold out until 14h30 to reach a 20-hour fast. 😁 To make sure I actually hold out until then, I've already marked the log dark green. Now I HAVE to do it... 😅       Whenever the kids hear me singing along to a song on the radio, or they see me bobbing my head to music, they generally ask "will this make your list?" even if they know in advance that it won't. But now and then there's a mainstream song to which I dryly reply "absolutely" and I see their minds blow. "Wait, do you like this?" Sure. Just because I have a preference for rock and it's many variations, doesn't mean that there's nothing outside of that that I like as well. This song in particular had a massive "wait, what?" reaction from them when I said it was definitely going to be on my list, and probably in the top 500 even. I love that I still have the ability to surprise them. This was the song, which I had dubbed "outside of my preferred genre but a truly excellent song" when I first heard it in early 2020, even before it became the massive hit that it wound up to be:   The Weeknd - Blinding Lights
    • Free movement and work, yes, the benefits of EU membership as deffy said. That's why we keep cursing Brexit, had the UK not done that I'd already be living and working there without having to jump through any immigration hoops. That's why moving to Ireland was/is our backup plan. And that's why I thought of meeting in France while my passport is being held captive by UK immigration authorities, because I can just travel within the EU with my ID card or driver's license.   Speaking of which, UK Immigration authorities decided to troll us yesterday. I got a message from their local partner here who did all the Biometrics stuff that "we've been informed a decision has been made on your application" yet no word on whether that decision is positive or negative. No way to check either, I have to wait a few business days in limbo for a response from the British authorities themselves. So yes, things are moving, but at this point it really is Schrodinger's visa.
    • This is also the bare minimum for feeling valued and loved in a relationship.   If I may suggest... take the paragraph that led up to this excellent summary with you to the therapy session,  and share it, word for word, as you wrote it. Yes, it's a bit sharp, but it's very clear, and being sharp is sometimes necessary to convey how important something is. And if you can't speak openly during couples therapy, where can you?    Honestly, it sounds as Mr. Harriet might need a wake-up call about the state of his marriage anyway, if he really doesn't realize that he should and needs to snuggle his wife on a daily basis.
