paulapalooza
A couple weeks ago, I decided to sign up for my first powerlifting meet, and I just competed in it yesterday! I spent the last two weeks stressing out about making weight, but I weighed in at 113.9 lbs the afternoon before...and then gained 4 pounds from the sushi buffet and hot pot I had afterwards. It's ok, those pounds didn't stay on. I was just dehydrated before and thus my body was like AAAHHH TREASURE THE FOOD AND WATER as soon as I started eating again. I squatted 87.5 kg (192.9 lbs), benched 37.5 kg (82.7 lbs), and deadlifted 115 kg (253.5 lbs). I made 8/9 attempts (failed the last bench, couldn't even get it off my chest). Wooooo! PRs in everything, and I hit my summer goal of deadlifting 250 lbs. Plus, I got a shiny first place trophy...for being the only competitor in the 114 lbs juniors division. First place, only place, what's the difference anyways? Pfftt. The meet was overall a great experience, and I met a bunch of other cool powerlifters. They're all so supportive and want you to succeed in your lifts. :') Here are the videos of the lifts: Squat: Bench: Deadlift: 5 Quote Link to comment
