I actually I never gave much of a thought as to when love handles would become unappealing – most of the time I just tend to like them. I would say between the moment they become noticeable right over one's boxers until you need your entire hand to grasp them – which I don't think happens unless one is very overweight.Google is also being very unhelpful with this task.
