Sara Kingdom's Rivers of London 9: Mens sana in corpore sano (Halloween edition))

Ugh, I need some aesthetic today. Everything is blah. And I'm out of coffee. Maybe I should get some pumpkin spice coffee.

I miss weekends spent in coffeeshops with notebooks. This is so uncivilized.

There is nothing good except vampires. (And I can only have them when on movement breaks.) Vampires and coffeeshops. I have very simple needs. Come hang. Throw some seasonal aesthetic at me, guys.

I felt like I could run forever, like I could smell the wind and feel the grass under my feet, and just run forever.

I need some witchy striped socks like these, I think.

Halloween is truly one of the stripiest holidays.

Dear Inspector Nightingale,

Honestly, I could as well, though it's probably difficult to document the 1930s without them.

Would you settle for a factual annotation? Something like "Edward Windsor, apart from being a fashionable man about town with nice flannel suits, was a known pro-Hitler fascist. Documentation suggests he not only actively collaborated with Hitler during the war but encouraged the German bombing of Britain. His abdication was not forced because he planned to marry a divorced woman, but because the government learned their alarmingly fascist king was sharing secret documents with with his pro-Nazi fiancee, which she in turn was passing on to the German ambassador."

Because I think I could manage that.

Sincerely,

Sara Kingdom
