  1. It sounds like things are going amazing, and I'm really excited for you about the job.
  2. Thank you, Rowan. It means a lot to me for you to say that.
  3. And I just want to take a minute to say that even though I'm sad about my grandma's passing, I'm going to try to remember her by trying to be like her. She was always smiling and happy, and I can never ever remember a time seeing her angry or even in a bad mood. Every time we would visit her, she would insist on cooking us something delicious, even if we were just stopping by for a short visit. She was one of the most kind and selfless people I ever knew. She spent most of her life serving other people, and I believe everyone who knew her loved her. I want to be like that. I want to be healthy and fit, but I also want to be a light to others like she was and be healthy on the inside too.
  4. I love that you do yoga with your baby! Every once in awhile I get my boys (ages 11 and 8) to do yoga with me. Their favorite pose is savasana.
  5. Thanks, Raxie! That's so nice of you to say. I thought about bringing a jump rope with me on our vacation, but as anyone who has been to Disneyland knows, by the end of the day your feet and legs are hurting so bad just the thought of jump roping is way too much. I think a jump rope is fantastic for most vacations though, because it takes so little space in your bag. Yeah, I probably could have thrown this away, and my kids might not have even cared that much. I need to just overcome my sweet tooth, though. If there is any sugar in the house in any type of food, I will find it and I will eat it. I just need to make myself want healthy stuff instead.
  6. I've always wanted to be a librarian, just because of the book aspect of it. But adding in geeky movie watching time into it would just about make it heaven.

I'm always impressed with your ability to do whole30's (more than once, too) and stick with it. I'd like to just stick with a healthy eating plan at this point, let alone something as strict as a whole30. I've done it before, and those are hard. You are doing really good!
  8. Thanks, guys. Erick, you're right. I need to just do my goals, and it'll help me feel better. Motivation isn't always going to be there. I just have to do it anyway. For my goals: Goal 1: Doing well with the 10,000 steps. This hasn't been too big of a problem for me. The yoga, on the other hand, is not going well. I don't know why, but I just don't ever want to do it, even though I always feel good afterward. I need to maybe figure out a set time to do this, and just make myself go at that time, no matter how I'm feeling. Goal 2: Meal Plan for this week: Monday: Creamy Ham, Peas, and Ranch Pasta Tuesday: Red Beans and Sausage Gumbo Wednesday: Slow Cooked Beef Roast Thursday: Skillet Balsamic Chicken Friday: Baked Beef and Rice Tacos Saturday: Dinner at a Scouting event Sunday: Dinner at a family event Still have been eating too much sugar, and haven't been super smart about snacks on the weekends. And I need to drink more water and do less stupid snacking in the afternoons. Goal 3: Jump roping is just about non-existent. I need to be doing 8 minutes a day this week. I didn't do any yesterday. And I didn't do any today because I was having major knee pain for some reason. I am going to get back on it tomorrow. Maybe I won't do 8 minutes in a row; it might just be a minute or two at a time throughout the day to total 8 minutes. All that to say, I am back in this. I'm sick of making excuses and then looking in the mirror and not liking what I see.
  9. I want a job where I can watch Avengers and X-Men and get paid for it. And you're very inspiring with your workouts. Keep up the good work!
  10. Rowan, you've had transitions, and a lot of stuff up in the air, and you're still going strong. Still awesome, as always.
  11. I'm back. I was on vacation, and just wanted to have a break from all electronics and that kind of thing while I was gone. We had a great time, I got in a ton of walking. 20-30,000 steps on the days we were at Disneyland. But we drove, so the days of travel weren't great. There just wasn't opportunity. My eating wasn't the best, I didn't get any yoga in. So some good some bad. The sad part is that my grandma died while I was there. She was my last living grandparent, and I wasn't able to make it back for her funeral. I've been feeling really sad lately, and am just not feeling any motivation for my challenge right now.
  12. Your challenge sounds so interesting! I think self-love is so important, but something that most people struggle with at least some of the time. It does ease the burden for others when they don't feel like they're responsible for our happiness. I'm so glad to hear you're feeling amazing! I hope the feeling has continued.
  13. When I was eating paleo, I had muffins with chocolate chips all the time. It just made it a little easier. So I guess I wasn't actually eating 100% paleo, but sometimes you have make concessions that will help you stick with things for the long haul.
  14. I like to have a cup of black coffee in the mornings too. But like you, it does make me drink less water, like not any all morning pretty much. Sounds like you figured out a good solution.
