    • I hope you had a great Canada Day and got to go swimming. I might do that on Thursday to celebrate Independence Day here. The rest of the weekend is predicted to be cool or rainy.   I am surprised at the threats of violence in your area. I always heard that Canada was very peaceful, and smaller towns even more idyllic. I hope everything is okay.   Shopping for cars is a very different experience at different points on the price spectrum. New cars are easier because you know they are all in perfect mechanical condition with a warranty. It is just a matter of deciding what features you are willing to pay for. Used cars are more challenging because it can be hard to get reliable information on the mechanical condition of the car. Plus you have a trade-off between purchase price and expected useful life of the vehicle. It helps a lot if you have a mechanic who can do inspections for you at a reasonable price.
    • My parents would also agree with this and throw a solid Christian fit on your behalf, Sov. This is, indeed, not "good Christian behavior" and my parents would not be happy someone is making Christians look bad.   I do agree with the others. I won't even rant one bit other than to say "I agree wholeheartedly, even with the unspoken [unwritten]"
    • Yum! Are they wild or does yor family grow them? We had raspberries for a while. I loved them, but they were  super hard to take care of because they  grew so quickly and spread so fast. Then, when our vines weren't producing as much, they had to go. I miss them, but not all the work. Maybe one year, I'll try a different variety.
    • Scary! Glad you and your house are alright.
    • I'll not pretend to be a car connoisseur so I don't think I can be much help, all I'm basically doing is watching if the car has the features that I want, what its theoretical environmental impact and ongoing costs are and checking its brand name reputation. He seems to like models with a more 'classy' look (except for the Forester, which seems odd in the list), which is fine if it doesn't break his budget (a car is a car, afterall, price increases beyond the basics bring less and less bang for the buck). Price will probably have to be the deciding factor through his selection.

    • Have so much fun on your trip! Some wealthy friends of mine go to Norway as a family every couple of years to stay with cousins, and the entire clan only speaks English. They've said as long as you're in a major city, you'll have people fighting to practice their English on you.  Not th     I feel you on the pronunciation, the neuter article suffix "-et" is completely undetectable to me if I don't already know the word's. Reminds me of the worst parts of French haha! It's part of why I've been hyper focused on reading comprehension, I have an easier time parsing spoken norsk when I already know the sentences they're speaking. but hey, at least we barely have to conjugate verbs!     I've used iTalki before for speaking and writing with natives, and it's nice, but not a silver bullet. I've only used the free side, which is peer-to-peer language exchange. I don't know if the paid tutor sessions are worthwhile.   https://www.italki.com/     I feel this! Just be patient with yourself, a lot of the challenges you see that are going well, this is maybe our 30th time trying to game ourselves into doing a specific thing regularly. Even having a challenge goal listed means I generally suck at that behavior; when I do succeed, it's with the support of a shrink/ADHD meds/nerd fitness cheer squad/flexible work scheduling/insanely supportive chosen family/a lot of other things.   Also, just between you and me, I'm convinced that every mom on this forum uses meth to keep up with everything.
    • Ooh. Good luck with the three interviews! Or is it one interview lasting three days... that sounds horrid.
    • Sorry to hear. I also don't do well at funerals, but mostly because of panic attacks.   Don't ruminate. We have enough suffering in the present without summoning it to us from the past and the future.       No worries at all.
