IslandGirl_Becks Posted January 14, 2016 Report Share Posted January 14, 2016 I don't really attempt the Olympic lifts like snatches, cleans, etc. I have nobody to show me and no mirror and I feel like trying them on my own is just a bad idea. At some point I may get a trainer so that I can learn them but until then, I leave them out of any complexes that I consider doing. I never tried them before I had a coach. After I got a coach, it took me ~3 years to get to the point where I'll do them on my own... yeah, I'm not very coordinated. I still never go heavy without a coach!! Wouldn't you know it, this would be the first time in a year I overestimate my lifting ability and can't get the bar up. I go to do the roll-of-shame and the weights won't slide off! It was then I realized that in my lack of attention, I put clips on the ends of the bar (something I NEVER do for bench). I didn't think my sister in law would be able to hear me yelling for her so I took matters into my own hands and powered up one end of the bar and managed to rest it on the rack and scooch out. I then proceeded to slap myself for being so stupid.
