Slate Specter
Hi everyone! I am starting on NF today. I am a lawyer and mom of two young daughters (4 and 2). I'm also married to a fellow geek. I've been a little heavier than I would like to be since law school, and while I sometimes drop some weight, I never seem to keep it off. I finally decided that instead of just trying to lose those proverbial last 10 pounds, I'm going to go nuts and aim to lose 11% body fat and actually be able to do all the cool stuff I like watching! I chose the Assassin class, though my character never kills anyone, and I'm really more of a spy/secret do-gooder. I have always loved seeing characters in movies doing freerunning/parkour, and I always wanted to be able to climb trees as a kid. So my goal is to be able to scale a wall, climb a rope/tree, and generally get in and out of places unseen. My favorite nerd shows are Dr. Who, Buffy, Star Trek, and Agents of Shield. For books, I lean toward fantasy/dystopian: Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Eragon, Song of Ice and Fire, Name of the Wind. For movies, I will always stop changing channels and watch: Fifth Element, Star Wars (anything but Episode 1, which I recently watched with my daughter and forgot how horrible it is), nearly any James Bond, but especially Casino Royale, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. 1 Quote Link to comment
Guzzi
Awesome! Welcome on board! I love that you have built yourself a character, are you going to go the whole RPG hog and have points, level-ups etc? Some people turn their challenge thread into a story where their character is on an epic quest or facing a fierce enemy. I don't, but that's coz I'm boring. i saw you post in UndergroundSuzie's thread, did you read the info I posted about the challenges? The next one starts on the 17th. It looks like you've read about the guilds, have you checked out the Assassins Den to say hi? Just wanted to say, that your goals could also align with the Rangers, they do a lot of that stuff too. If there's anything you want to know just shout. I have a LOT of time on my hands so can help at any time. Slate Specter
Thanks Guzzi! Yes, I saw your reply there on challenges. I am definitely planning to do a challenge when the next one starts! I would love to make my challenge thread into a story. I think that would be really fun. Having points and level ups gives me incentive to keep going. Thanks so much! 2 Quote Link to comment

I immediately thought of a industrial espionage type of story. Glass skyscrapers, familiar urban setting, yet it's a hi-tech future.. You, looking at how the big corporations are taking advantage of the world, and deciding to do something about it.. But I'm rushing forward here, it's your story If there's one piece of advice, it'd be: have fun writing it. Just let it fly!
