    • Killer workout in the gym this morning! It was so nice and un-crowded (still fall break week here). By the weekend that will change, though.   Rode my bike home, and the blue sky and golden leaves just making me glad glad glad.   Showered, had leftover soup for lunch, got great colleague to help me with the simulation runner, it’s all set now!   Going to drive down to train station to pick up Kid 2 in a bit. They offered to walk, but it’s kind of a long way when carrying all their laundry and clothes/ books / electronics for the week! After that, going to crack the seal a little bit on editorial stuff, then after hubby gets home there is a rumour we’re going downtown for tacos!
    • I mean, the man makes a point...   Hazbin is such a beautiful story about grace and redemption. I love that show so much. And the music! Poison and Loser Baby   Damn it! Why did I already make my next challenge?!? Need to remember this for December.     Burn-out might not be right. Drained, tired, sapped? Harder and harder to get out of bed in the morning, wanting to go back to bed earlier and earlier in the evening.  Work and everything else seem to be going fine, don't think I've got extra stress. Might be the season, might be the narcolepsy. Always tired is normal for me, just in a period of "more always tired" right now.
    • What an excellent sea-creature filled journey to:
    • Well, if you insist... 😉  I sketched it in and will probably maybe paint it tonight.     I am curious how the lunar cycling will work for me, too.  Maybe it's the cure for my exercise attention deficit.     Aw, thanks!  I enjoy making themes so much.  It's probably the most helpful part about the challenge cycle, in that it gets me excited to try again after the last challenge fizzles out.     It's funny how good days make for good nights make for good days.  My stress levels have been noticeably lower since cutting off my apps at bedtime and incorporating multiple walks a day.     Thank you, and same to you!     Yay!     Nooooo! 😜  I almost named the challenge Everstorm in Circadia, but my brain kept circling back to East/West as a better fit.
    • Edited original post, Dress code for production areas does make sense, and anyone here not in production is dealing with customers and outside folks.  Only thing I find truly strange in the company dress code is "During the summer months (May through Labor Day), Operations and Warehouse employees will be permitted to wear shorts at work." Like really? The day after labor day, we're still in the high 90s, but no more shorts? And who cares if someone wants to wear shorts in the winter, they'll just have to deal with the fact that I'm not adjusting the thermostat for them.    We've had some people in public facing positions wearing tops with exposed midriffs, which is what I think prompted the reminder email from HR, sent to everyone. None of the people in the meeting were the targets of the email, I was just teasing them.
    • This one warmed my heart. I've still got a couple stuffies from my childhood to which the quote would apply, and thinking about them has given me the warm fuzzies.
    • Thank you, but I have access to a full kitchen, the problem is it is my mother's kitchen, and she is fiercely territorial about it. As long as I plan ahead and make sure she wasn't planning to be using the oven or what have you while I have it, though, I can usually make it work.
    • The whale shark and the autumn cottage are very pleasing. Good luck finding a beautiful rhythm.
    • Unless you're often dealing with customers / outside people, where I get that an air of professionality is required, I don't see the point of a dress code at all. Even worse if others wouldn't get such a reminder for wearing the exact same thing.
