I weighed in this morning at 240.4.  I haven't eaten a lot this week, because I just didn't have much of an appetite this week between a stuffy head and loads of cough drops. I'll work to maintain the loss, but I'm usually skeptical of this kind of weight loss when I don't feel well, because it feels more like a side effect of being sick than a result of my efforts.

It's ok to count it even if you end up a little higher as you recover.  It still counts!

I suspect that is exactly what is going to happen. But it won't be for long. I am excited to get under 240 for good!

I made an appointment to see the orthopedic doc again about my hand and wrist. it still hurts, so I'm really trying to not worry about it. If I need surgery, my brother said he'd drive me.  I don't know that I will need that, but I feel better after talking to my brother about it and planning for different scenarios. I worry less, because now we have a plan. But the waiting is going to be difficult. I'll need to get stuff done, and not just shut down until my appointment comes. 

  

I went for a walk today and turns out 40 degrees in cloudy weather when there's snow everywhere is a lot colder than 40 in the sunshine.  We have a winter storm warning for tomorrow, so I'm going to be doing some fitness boxing.  I haven't eaten very well in the last couple of days, so I'm going to I dunno...make a vegetable tonight :D 

 

So my plan on staying sane until next Wednesday is:

 

Do chores: Super fun, right? But I want to be caught up on laundry and cleaning so that the house is pretty easy to take care of. 

Exercise: I have a really warm coat and boots so I can walk, even in shitty weather.  And I have lots of stuff I can do inside the house to exercise. 

Watch Kung Fu Panda Movies. 1.2.3.  YES.

 

 

That's it so far. What do you like to do when you're nervously waiting for something?

Is Wednesday your appointment?  The waiting sucks but I'm glad it wasn't longer.  

 

My solution is always distract distract distract!  I like your plan.

February is my "Get your ass moving again" Month.  So I've been exercising every day and it's pretty great. I had a moment of frustration and grief this morning because SO many things hurt my hand. Also, my squats are WEAK. And I used to walk 2.5 miles at once and feel really good, and I'm tired after a mile.  I've just lost a lot in the last few months, and I think it's going to take a couple months just to get to the point where I was feeling good before the fall.  I can do it though. And I am going to be careful and not fall down anymore :) 

 

I think it's time to bring out Kung Fu Panda

How is the weather for everyone? We got a couple inches of snow, which isn't bad at all, but underneath is definitely ice from the rain and sleet that fell before the snow. They just cleared our road of snow and put salt down, but I can see it's just ice now from my window. I've decided to wait until tomorrow to clear my walk when it's sunny and over freezing.

 

Yesterday I was not at my best, and today I feel better.  I really need to get some cleaning done, and since I am not going anywhere for a day or so, I'm going to pick up, organize, and clean. My big goal this week is to get the cabinet fronts cleaned, especially in the bathrooms and kitchen.  I also need to get laundry done, which can be a nice timekeeper for me while I'm cleaning.  I'm really looking forward to getting started so I think I'll do that now :D Have a good day!

I bet it's very pretty! It's got a little colder here but everywhere just feels a little bit...dare I say it... spring-y? I am excited for brighter times!

I changed my mind. Since the sun was shining I decided to clear the snow so that it didn’t melt into the ice and make more ice. So now my driveway is about an inch of ice with ice melt on top of it and I’m waiting for it to work. I haven’t decided if I’m going back out there today or if I’m just going to let the weather take care of it tomorrow. I guess we’ll play it by ear. But for now, I’m enjoying a nice mug of tea.

I'm reworking my challenge, my hand aches terribly, but I want to exercise. I've been too focused on what I can't do and trying to force myself forward but there are a LOT of ways to exercise and be strong without carrying weight and causing further injury. 

 

Tonight I am going to feel sorry for myself, and then Tomorrow is a new start :)

Weighing in at 245.4 this morning, which is a significant improvement from 247 on Friday.  My next weight loss goal is 237 because 240 is the new 250 and I think I'm psyching myself out a little here. 

 

For this week, I'm going to cut WAY back on my sugar and white flour. I've had store-bought muffins, which are like 4 muffins in one muffin, cookies (so many cookies) bread, crisps/chips, and pizza and to be completely honest with you, it wasn't that awesome.  So back to eating like a 41 year old. 

 

A big victory for me was starting strong exercises again. I did 8 minute abs yesterday and my crunches didn't even lift my shoulders off the ground! I could lift my head and neck, and basically just focused on the muscles. Also, my legs were really tired when I had to do knee to elbow moves.  Today I'm going to focus on lower body. And there's stretching. always. I'm glad I'm doing this, but I'm mad about it too.

I weighed in at 242.2 today!  Big changes: more exercise, spinach smoothies, and less baked goods and fried foods.  I'm really proud of myself right now!  I won't be getting weighed next weekend because I'm going on vacation! It's going to be HOT, and I'm very excited about it!

Thanks! It was a nice time mostly! My folks were really tired of being there by the time I arrived, and they weren't at their best, but I was mentally prepared for that.  It was hot and sunny and it was a great break from the cold and grey.

Were you walking around a lot while on vacation? Last year I went to Barcelona for 10 days and I ate so much gelato, and chocolate and fatty foods and was astonished to find that I had lost weight instead of gaining 5 pounds! Turns out that all the walking around the city really makes a big difference. Too bad my job can't be walking around as a tourist all day. I'd be dropping weight so fast :D

honestly, I have no idea. I left my electronics in my room most of the time, so while I did walk, I have no idea! 

 

How was Barcelona? It seems like it would be really lovely..
