So far it is a neat idea but the way they changed the codes makes it darn near impossible for new players to level up. Just to get to level to you need 10k XP which is a lot considering you get something like 150-200XP for hacking an enemy portal. The fastest way to level is to take an unclaimed portal which are hard to come by these days in my area. The best thing about the game so far is having a new reason to smile at complete strangers. :-)I'm definitely one of the underdogs here. Everything I do is undone, usually in less than eight hours. At this rate, I might be able to make level 5 in another week. I haven't seen any XMP or resonators over L3 though. Only XMP bursters do any damage. Hacking generates items. A one level lead at level 1 or 2 is basically nothing. Heck, level 1 to level 2 is only 100 hacks on enemy portals.
