  1. Stay on target, stay on target... You can do it Wolf, you will succeed. We believe in you.
  2. Good job turning things around and coming back to keep swinging. Sorry about the drama, I've been there. Keep it up and knock out tomorrow.
  3. Texas is truly a great place. I did lift day today. Did well with all my body weight warm up stuff, did not get a new PR on Deadlift. Current is 240 and when I tried for 245 I couldn't lift it. I know it's not an effort problem because after the second attempt I felt slightly light headed. It's possible I'm not eating enough for gains, but since weight loss is the current priority I'm not too concerned if that's what it is. I did realize that even with my 1RM staying at 240 I can now deadlift my own body weight since I'm at 238 (down from 285 in February). My mood has been a little low at times over the past week, I attribute it to the drama from last week not really ending till early this week and still recovering from the night shifts that only ended Sunday morning. I do know I'm handling feeling "down" way better than I used to even six months ago. The growth that's come out of all the struggle of the last few months is starting to show. Thanks again to everyone for all your support. Run day tomorrow.
  4. It just means he's been given an opportunity to find a new way to succeed.
  5. Glad you had a good day. I don't know if it's because your post started with "today was great" but it does seem more positive without the weights.
  6. Welcome to the rebellion. If you have been reading Steve's blog you know the trick to gaining muscle is to eat and lift heavy. If you are a vegetarian it's time to go nuts. Literally, eating more nuts is a great way to get the protein you need for clean gains.
  7. The spirit of the Spartan Race just sensed a great disturbance in The Force.
  8. Sorry you're having such a rough time. You asked what you should do, I'd suggest getting up right now and having a glass of water. How about a tracking board? Get enough containers to hold your day's allotment of water. Get some stickers. Get a board. Draw a grid on the board with a row for each day left in the challenge and a column for each container of water. Put a sticker on the board each time you empty a container (by drinking only). Boom, instant feedback and gratification.
  9. I'm running out of different ways to congratulate you for doing so well
  10. Nice to see you back in the saddle again, charging at your goals.
  11. I am literally eating some paleo bolognese right now. I do like fish, and so far the recipe plan I use has called for it 1-2 times a week. I'm buying fresh (as fresh as you can get in San Antonio, the Gulf isn't to far away but it's not known for it's fish) and just what I need for the week. I've done the buy in bulk at the first of the month thing before, I'm trying something different this time around as it actually seems to be working for me. We have Whole Foods down here but I don't go. In South Texas we have one of the greatest grocery chains in the World, H-E-B. It's the largest privately owned grocery chain in the nation and still owned by the original family after 110 years. All its employees love it, it takes great care of them, the prices are reasonable (Wal-Mart and Target keep them honest though they have run Kroger and Albertson's out of town), and they have their own brand of almost everything that is often better than the national brands.
  12. We believe in you. Have a substitute prepared and ready to go, beg off after the workout if you need to.
  13. Paleo or Primal pretty much mean you will have to cook for yourself, glad your numbers are getting better.
  14. Welcome to the rebellion. If you look in the recruit section and in the FAQ it will tell you how the challenges work.
  15. Have fun boldering. And no one has said it yet, but well done staying on top of your no alcohol goal, especially with the frustration of challenging houseguests.
  16. Finally caught up. Reciprocal follow of your thread. You are doing great so far, it was so fun to read through the thread and see your progression from "I'm just gonna hang out with the Rangers for a Challenge" to Imma Ranger forever! Keep up the good work and stay healthy.
  17. Thanks Wolf! I appreciate the kind words and it's nice to know you're there cheering me on!
