    • The last year has been a WILD ride, but mostly a good one. I'll throw most of the last year updates in a spoiler, TL/DR life is going great, now time to start shifting focus back towards health goals, but life wins/updates in the spoiler:  Health wise: some wins  - I've developed a bike commute path to and from work, and pretty much if the weather allows me to I ride in rather than drive (e-bike because there are a couple of hills I would not be able to do without the assistance right now)  - We did do a full month of daily yoga... in January 😅 I definitely need to get into a sustainable rhythm with that, I did feel pretty good after that month  - I'm getting better about meal prep most weeks (thank you Mealime)   I have a lot of things I need to work on, I'm having some joint pain/mobility issues that I want to address and I went back up to my original base weight, so my goals going forward are going to be focused primarily in that direction, since I've managed to address most of the other things I was dealing with at this point. I'll probably jump back into the actual challenges in June and try to get back into the flow with those - I should also try to get my boyfriend on here for an IRL acountabilibuddy.
    • Thanks. Hope you have luck finding a new hairdresser 🤞

    • I'm running out of steam to fix the washer today. I think I'll make dinner instead. The plan is spicy sausage pasta with garlic, onion,  ground pork, spinach, diced tomatoes, black olives and fresh basil in the pasta sauce. And garlic toast on the side I'm not going to lie... I'd rather a nap but Mr.R will probably message me to head out to get him in an hour or so.
    • 😀Maybe just try incorporating more fat into your eating? I think I went a little low on fat on my deficit, and  am feeling like eating all the fat too. I've done fairly well at sticking to it so far. Going up gradually seems to be easier than just switching from deficit to maintenance.  We went out to dinner, and I definitely overdid it there, but the other days have been better. I'm trying to think long term sustainability
    • I did exactly this, and let myself feel all the feels while we walked through the neighborhood on a beautiful day. It was just the ticket. I'm still sad and tender from it all, of course, but that's okay too. Agreed on both counts. I also might have a scholarship for the remaining PhD coursework, which would be most welcomed, especially since I've had to cancel the European trip due to head issues which aren't going to get any better at this point. Being disabled has a million papercuts of grief. I'm glad I was able to marshall the Fortitude to do this hard thing, and to do it in the middle of the chaos. Being a Druid is no joke, and is also absolutely worth it.   After acupuncture, I think I'll take a very long, very hot bath in the lovely clawfoot tub at this dogsitting house and then watch some more episodes and just fall asleep early.
    • Well, I talked about the breathing issues, the anxiety, and the occasional chest pain. I've been told to start taking three vitamins. I was able to get the Magnesium and Vitamin D, but there was a supplement that may help with the anxiety but I couldn't spot it at the stores where I was looking. I'll try looking online to figure out its availability. Oh, and I need to do blood work tests tomorrow before breakfast. 😗   I've just had my lunch that I'd brought to work. I have the rest of the day on the clock. Still a little worn out from the weekend, but moving around all morning has helped my body with some of its aches and stiffness. I'm sure it's been crazy thanks to the bank holiday yesterday.
    • Week 3 Weekend Went for a hike on Saturday, 7.6 miles. It was not as wet as I expected (didn't have to pull out the rain gear), but the views from the top were terrible. All clouds. It was a workout, but my hip area is bugging me. I think the future is going to have a lot of stretching, foam roller, and maybe sleeping in a proper bed (maybe not the bed though, let's not be too crazy).   Week 4 Monday How is it Week 4 already? Didn't this challenge just start? Did morning candle and walk and veggies. No evening candle as I was falling asleep earlier than usual and didn't feel like getting up to do it. Oh, I suppose SAR could probably count as a cardio session. My heart rate was definitely up for a solid 50+ minutes. Based on my breathing, I was not in Zone 2.
    • VPN problems are annoying. Pairing that with the other chaos and uncertainty at work sounds awful. Can you take a break and take a walk? Maybe with the dog?   I always find it easier to get my brain out of those loops when I change my environment.     Good for you for prioritizing self-care. Both the physical and the intellectual.     I am glad you are getting bookings with decent clients and that you turned down the problematic one. Extra income and a change of scenery are both good things.
    • Leaving this here for my Temple of Small Wins this week, cuz I've been running out of steam, and on the other hand having trouble priming the mental pump to get things done. This is the actual small wins idea, and it's also the priming the pump. Create microtasks for microwins. Be a microwin generator.   (This is the first time I've encountered an ironic TTS voiceover. Thanks, I hate it.)
