The Battle Chef
Well, back at it after losing a few days. At least everything isn't aching all the time. The Battle Chef
Hand seems to be doing ok so I'm going back at it. Sitting around is depressing (there is way too much ice and snow outside to do much hiking). Scar tissue is breaking up, still a touch of swelling but that could just be the new baseline since they did poke around the bones a bit. I started teaching a friend of mine the basic lifts, and I'm happy to say the barbell doesn't feel too bad in the hands, which is nice. Not gonna go back to the old routine until surgery is done though. I've started re-reading all of Wendler's 5/3/1 books to piece together the rest of the year's programming while I'm waiting for Surgery the 2nd. The Battle Chef
In Canada the trades (welder, electrician, plumber, cook, baker and 50 other trades) are regulated by the individual provinces. So if you have plumbing experience in New Brunswick and you decide to move to Manitoba, it's up to the province to recognize your experience. Or you can complete a formal apprenticeship, write a handful of exams and get your red seal/journeyman status, so you can go work in your field wherever you damn well please. So now I have a red seal in the Cook trade and Baker trade. 1 Quote The Battle Chef's Log Link to comment
The Battle Chef
Having a crappy day. Tired of the ice and snow, tired of slipping on said ice and snow. Tired of the knot of scar tissue making training anything beyond my old warmup weight difficult. Bleh. Whiney ork is whiney. The Battle Chef
My surgeon is moving his office at the moment, which kinda screwed up his appointment schedule. Unfortunately work's getting really busy around the time of my next available appointment, so I am going to put it off until January 2020. I honestly just want to re-settle into my work & training routine again. I am giving myself another 2 weeks with the rehab routine, but I'll be doing more volume with my left hand starting on Sunday. The Battle Chef
9 hours ago, Mikey Fitpants said: What is the significance of the A, B, C and D sections? Do all sets of A before doing all sets of B before doing all sets of C before doing all sets of D I've been trying to stick with the A sets being "priming" exercises to get joints ready to go, B sets being the "main mover" exercise paired with an antagonistic mover (normally I press and row but I don't have the change plates for 4 sets of implements). C sets are supplementary work and D sets are accessory work (which are optional). So for Example I'd do B1 followed by B2 before taking a rest and repeating until all 3 B sets are done, then I'd do all C sets in order. I'm looking forward to being done with the dumbbell routine and getting back to proper barbell lifting. 2 Quote The Battle Chef's Log Link to comment
