Daily Dares PvP Sept 18-Oct 22

Done squats with EC! Can we also ask to never do 40 of the same ever again. Because it feels like my thighs are going to be very angry with me once my sweat has died down. Blargh.

I could maybe/probably do 40 squats in one go. But I won't. I need my legs to not be jelly the next day.

 

Darebee is great, but they're a fan of making things harder by adding more reps and more sets. Which I am not a fan of. But that's okay, because outside of the daily dares I can just make the exercise more difficult when the time comes.

Something was weird on the forums or my computer yesterday and I couldn't post.

 

Like Zeroh, I bailed on the idea of pushing hard for EC yesterday. Took one break after 21.

Today's done with EC. I'm not a super-big fan of the ones that say "as hard as you can" or "as fast as you can"...I imagine that if I had squeezed harder I wouldn't have made it the full 60 sec, but I kept a solid steady effort.

I agree. I feel like I could have gone harder, but then I would have dropped off after 10 sec. It's not as finite and proving as the other exercises have been. But honestly, this has really been motivating me to workout every day in smaller ways, which is a big plus for me!

Chest squeeze done with EC. I'm fairly sure the last time I saw this exercise was in a textbook at primary school, on a page demonstrating how not to strength train!

Love this! Yes, sometimes they go a little old school.

Ok, I tried the cross tricep extensions and can't even pull out one rep! When Darebee only asks for 10 reps you know you're in for a bad time!

Modified the cross tricep to do it on my knees. I can do it then, but only if my right arm is in front. What sort of points do I get for modified?

And jumping lunges done yesterday with no EC. *sigh*

Same. I just kept falling on my face.

In the modified dares column, you put the number of modified dares you've completed.

I did the calf raises, but no EC. Not today. I did them this evening, at work. I totally forgot about doing them this morning. But I did go jogging and did a bunch of kicks this morning. And it didn't take long for me to really feel all that when I did the raises. >_<

Has anyone done the infinity circles yet? I tried them but realized I didn't do what's in the picture. Looks like the circles in the "infinty" need to be along the same axis as your body (i.e., not next to one another). Also looks in the picture like his legs are crossed.

 

Anyone have advice or thoughts on this one? Gonna try again in a little bit.

The infinity circles kill your core.

 

I raised my legs to 90 degrees, and crossed them at the ankles. And then I rocked them back and forth (sort of ?) and then drew a little circle with them, on the way up and down. This is a terrible description. Basically a raised leg circle, but instead of a circle its an infinity sign.

I did something like that. I tried picturing drawing an 8 with my feet. It sort of helped, but was still a really awkward movement.

Darn!!!! Did a second try, this time with ankles crossed and circles going in the correct orientation. Now I see that I still didn't do it right. I had my hands at my sides...I could tell while I was doing them, that my hands were helping me to stabilize and making it easier. Hands have to go behind the head. Going to make a third attempt!!

Does this mean you get double credit for the number of times you did variations? :P
