First Daily Dare of 2017! (Jan 02 - Feb 04)

Recommended Posts

I recruited my kids to count my plank jacks for me. That way it'd harder for me to quit. I did this because I too was afraid. But sadly sinus infection made them not easy for me AT ALL. But I pushed through, with EC. And now finally my breathing returns to normal. Sigh.

Done 400 backfists as instructed 200 one side then 200 the other. Did not expect to get it all done with EC, but I did. Heavy arms now.

Major wooots!

Nice!  This is definitely one of the deceptive ones.

Got the back-fists done, but had to split them into fifties, so no EC :(

The 400 back fists were quite the challenge... I would have loved involving my children to help me count but it would have taken the whole day :-)

The leg raises where done with EC but I have to confess that the position was not really orthogonal. I don't think I'm able to stay 2 seconds square, something I'll have to work on more

Way to go. Have you done the clapping push ups before?  Were you worried abut face planting? I can't seem to get over the mental hurdle of lifting my hands off the ground. How did you work up to them.

Just saw this and thought I'd make a suggestion; have you tried starting with hand release push-ups first (i.e. push up explosively so your hands leave the floor but keep them under your shoulders)? This way you can get used to the motion first without a risk of face-planting. To be honest though I think you'll find your sense of self preservation is pretty strong, so if you can get your hands even an inch off the ground you'll find time to clap.

Also, after missing about a week and a half I'm finally back, and push up plank done with EC.

Don't say "I don't have enough time", say instead "that's not a priority right now" and see how that makes you feel.

Thanks, I'll try that. And welcome back!

Side tuck planks done with EC. Thought this would be hard on strength but for me it was more of a balance issue.

I totally agree, it was really difficult to stay in the correct position but was surprisingly easy on the abs and arms

I couldn't get the leg into the correct position at all, not even close to it, let alone balance in it.

So I misread and did tomorrow's Dare today? Is it alright if I just swap and do today's one tomorrow?

I don't see why not, as long as you do both you'll have done the same work either way.
