    • I'm pretty sure mine is a bigleaf., just by my quick google search.
    • I agree with Sil and sky here. The solution to all of the expense and sewing questions is to go for the traditional great kilt method. It requires several yards of fabric of choice (5 is common, 4-9 of the full range, at about 55-60 inches wide) and a wide belt. Tacking the pleats would be more reliable and make it easier to get dressed, but traditionally, like before the 19th century, that's not how they made kilts and wore them. (I think the modern short kilt was invented for highland regiments in the Napoleonic wars or some industrial factory workers. It's super recent, basically.)   Traditionally, that's not a sash across the body, but the tails of the kilt wrapped across the body and over the shoulder.         For a blue jay theme, may I recommend, if you can find it, a tartan in predominantly dark blue, light blue, and white? Jays have some strong striping on the wings there, run with your geometric stripy self.
    • Update So it's been a minute. I posted my last update on the anniversary of my 57th trip around the sun. It was a good couple of days. I took time off of work, I took a couple of solid hikes and spent some time working on the wiring and interior walls of my shed.   My family took me out for sushi two days in a row and then cooked me dinner on the third day. It was a fabulous weekend. Monday rolled around, and I came down with a miserable stomach bug that lasted eight days. I reclaimed my ability to remain vertical for more than 30 minutes at a time, but it has taken me a couple days to be able to eat anything of substance that isn't part of the BRAT diet and regain enough energy to do much.   I'm finally on the mend and I'm going to I pick up my challenge goals starting today.
    • Getting a summer bod sounds great. What kind of summer bod, though? Lithe and tanned? Swole and alarmingly red all over? Pale and emaciated? Plump and glittery?        Bayern is our team. Are they favourites with you or just less unfavored than Madrid? Hmmm. I should go through this thread and listen to everything in case there is a precious gem for my list. I've gotten a couple such gems from you
    • Your conversations with your partner are so damn brave. It's hard work making the subtext of the relationship explicit to both of you. I used to hit a heavy despair feeling when the architecture of my partnership became so clear, but I think I've come to appreciate knowing where the deal breaker events are for both of us.  Giant hugs.
    • These days happen. Quite pleased you noticed and bailed on more human-ing. Sounds like a win to me.     Gorgeous picture as always.
    • Big hugs. Post-therapy aftercare needs to be a thing!      You're being so careful and kind here. Damn. How's it feeling for mental health?
    • Thanks! I'll share photos of whatever I end up making, but this may not be much lol.   Yesterday: WIN.   Today so far: Max pull-ups (6) after lunch. Max pistol squats (7 right, 6 left) after lunch.
    • W3D4: one DrP in the morning, another small one with a Reese's at lunch--which was leftover pork stir-fry and rice.  For dinner at home I made grilled pork loin chips with roasted sweet potatoes and sauteed green beans.  1975 kcal, but there were some unaccounted cashews and Skittles in the mix as well.   Move was good, before cooking dinner I did 3 circuits of the NF BBWW (minus rows) and some stretching in the backyard so I could get some sun.  25 solid minutes.   MFG had the roughest night yet; I'm off work for the next few days to help out with all of the medical stuff.  Still hard, still thankful, still praying as hard as I can.  God is good, even in the dark times.
    • Hi, Sal! Super proud of you for reaching out to people, glad you had good conversations with them, and happy to hear that you have a plan for the summer.    What's going on with your foot? Did you get any answers from urgent care?   Have fun with your friend today!
