I love all the meals you've posted here, they look soooo inviting (ok, maybe not the coconut yoghurt). Congrats!

Legally bound to hug people in need.

Living life as a Druid is about walking with the beasts. It's about being scared, looking your fears in the eyes and going on anyway. Dread doesn't go away, you just learn to know it. It's still a beast, it still has fangs, but you walk among it.

How did you like the smoked tofu? I've been seeing it in a lot of recipe videos, but never tried it. Any good? What would you compare it to?

I hated tofu until i found the smoked one from Edeka https://www.edekanord-shop.de/jens/products/edeka-bio-vegan-tofu-geraeuchert-2-x-175-g-350-g-630926

I don't know if you also know Alnatura out there, but this one was meeh.

I think I like about the edeka one that it is more salted than others. And now that I found one that I like I don't want to taste others :D Because that failed great in the past.

@Jean Thank you  (finally found a place where the light is good for photos)

The ones that don't look thaaat good (yoghurt) are the ones I have to take to work :D

I just scrolled through my instagram profile and though "hey, finally your photos look sort of good".

And the owner of the farmers shop was really excited that we want to rent a piece of their land next year. I like her very much. She is the one that calls me when there are not so beautiful veggies or fruits and then I buy them (for a lower price), otherwise they mostly have to throw them away. And I don't care how these things look, if they taste good :)

And she always asks (this time about the potato bread) "was it good? Should we buy that more often? I will call you then!" She is so nice!

Oh and we will press some apple juice on 2/11.

My uncle has a lot of apple trees and will collect them in the week before and we will (again, we do this every year or two, depends on the harvest) press our own very gooood apple juice!

It's a lot of work! We do it all manually. I am very excited!

The only smoked tofu I can find is this one

Made in Germany even! :D Might give it a try next time I'm in that store, we'll see...

This one I didn't taste (but have seen it), some people told me it is really good. Since there is sea salt, soy sauce etc in there it could be good :)

I like the Edeka Tofu better raw then cooked/pan fried. It's good both times but raw on a slice of bread....

(I never thought I'd say this)

I will post them in the evening ;)
The organic box just got delivered.... I am so bad at guessing which is the right amount of food.....

I got a monster. A chard monster. And so much veggie and fruit and stuff....

And we are not here at the weekend. And our freezer is so so small (and already almost full.....)

So today it's all about organizing the food :D

(I also forgot to bring my breakfast and lunch to work today, so I have to eat this also now!)

I didn't know this when I made my breakfast, but it was a fun coincidence because initially I had planned to make something entirely different (that I made this morning instead).

Then we went to Luxembourg and had a great fondue. 1kg of meat (zebra, beef, chicken, ostrich, bison, scallops, scampis, veal,...). Plus potato gratin (wow!) and salad. And dips. And they have so great olives as a "before the starter".

Weekend was great. It was all about sleeping, eating and doing "nothing".

On Saturday we slept until noon (went to bed at 5am ;) because we always drive at night to Lux).

Then I read a magazine, went showering etc, we met a friend in a bar.

After that we went to visit another friend, after that we had the great fondue until midnight.

Yesterday another friend came over, I read a book and decluttered my ebooks (Spoiler: Deleted 1700 of 2200).

Then we had a nap and went to the burger restaurant.

After that we drove home. Were at home at 10pm.

Was a lovely weekend. Was really needed. And a great "reset".

Best use I've found for it this far is porridge. Nice change/compliment for the oatmeal sometimes. But considering the price of quinoa it's probably not worth it... Not sure I'll buy more when I'm out of what I currently have. We'll see.

All the fancy kinds of meat! Zebra? Ostrich? Bison? Never had it! Want to try it! :D Wouldn't even know where to look for it here :(

I always end up turning the day around when I'm home alone. Don't know why that is. Just always seem to get stuck on the computer and never going to bed... And then when I finally do, I obviously end up sleeping late the day after, and so the cycle begins...

Looks and sounds like you had a great weekend. Good for you!

That's what my bf does :D

He's a student and had semester break for the last months (ok, one month, the other months he was writing his bachelor thesis) and he was always the late night person.
So when I got up he would come to bed and I would wake him when coming home from work :D

I found that I am also more of a night owl than the early bird.

For my sleep: It doesn't work (most of the time) to go to bed earlier then now (between 10-11pm) but I have to sleep longer.

I just have problems with the office days where I have to get up at 5. The other days are good actually. Finally.

But I am used to get up between 5 and 6 for the last...... 11 years.... so.... I think it's a bit of a habit (bad habit for my biorythm).

Yeah the meat was great, we have it also here in germany in some restaurants. The first time I ate meat like that was when I visited my uncle in South Africa. Dried bison is best!

Have you looked into biphasic sleep?

Yep and tried it (the ~2x4 hrs) because I think the rest would not be practicable on workdays. 2x4hrs didn't work that well, because can't sleep that early. When I woke up every night at around 4 it wouldn't work to be awake 2-4 hrs and then sleep again for 4hrs.

I also tried GABA. And L-Tryptophan/5-htp. And Melatonin. Sleep meditation. Sleep "hypnosis". ASMR (can't stand that!). We swapped the bedroom with the guest room.

Nope.

A big step that helped was to not do the "self fulfilling prophecy" anymore. And don't stress me about the little sleep the whole day after. And I had naps almost everyday after work.

At the moment it is fine with sometimes naps, and just getting up that early on Mondays and Thursdays.

Link to comment

Both good ideas ;)

I am not sure if my boss likes it when I do the work complete remote. But I will think about that.

Link to comment

Oh my naps normally take 1-1,5hrs :D

A bit long for lunch break. But for two days it's ok to take a nap after work (I am at home around 4pm).
