Vendettaressa
Is anyone doing Camp NaNoWriMo this year? It's kind of an annual thing in April where you set your own word count goal and try to actively write during that month. I usually get too caught up in life. I hope to do the original NaNo this year! Quote there is never a sudden revelation, a complete and tidy explanation for why it happened, or why it ends, or Why or Who you are. you want one and I want one, but there isn't one. it comes in bits and pieces, and you stitch them together wherever they fit, and when you are done you hold yourself up, and still there are holes and you are a rag doll, invented, imperfect. and yet you are all that you have, so you must be Enough. there is no other way. ― Marya Hornbacher, Wasted: A Memoir of Anorexia and Bulimia Link to comment

SeekingCassandra
I am about 3/4th through writing a very large historical Golden Age of Piracy era novel. It's been my NaNoWriMo project for the last NaNo and Camp NaNo, and I am hoping next months' camp will help push me to the finish line on it so I can start editing in earnest and eventually publish. I also have a couple fantasy, and modern pieces on the back burning, along with a decade old fanfiction I am chipping away at a chapter at a time. Too many ideas in the brain at the same time, I fear. . . elinox
I've written 2 novels and several dozen fanfics and short stories (both completed and uncompleted). The second novel, I completed for NaNoWriMo 2015 with the help of my challenge here at the same time. I published my 'House of Red' through Amazon Kindle's self-publishing in May! Isaac Clark
I'm a professional writer / editor, so I do write quite a bit. I started off writing my own short stories and stuff when I as still in Highschool, but now that I do it as work, I just can't seem to get the willpower to write in my free time. It kinda just reminds me of work 1 Quote Level 11 Ranger My Introduction! Character Page Link to comment
Gemma
I "win" NaNoWriMo almost every year but have never finished a cohesive story. I tend to do things like start off with an idea for a murder mystery, then around the first plot point suddenly realize that I'd much rather be writing solarpunk sci-fi, and then go back to the character development drawing board and realize that my MC is better suited to YA fantasy, all while reading Zafon or Garcia Marquez and remembering how much I adore magical realism ... and then come to Dec 1 with a completely reasonable five-fifths of a novel that is not at all a whole So basically my hobby is creating literary hot-mess train wrecks for fun without profit. For those who intend to NaNo '17, my NaNoName is ChanDeere, feel free to buddy me. 1 Quote “Then something Tookish woke up inside of him, and he wished to go and see the great mountains, and hear the pine-trees and the waterfalls, and explore the caves, and wear a sword instead of a walking-stick." -J. Novaurora
Hey fellow writers! I was scavenging around for a thread like this. I don't usually do Nano (I'm a teacher and 50 in one month plus grading is just not ever going to happen if I want to have a life) but I'm 90k into a fantasy novel and would love to chat with/encourage other writers (fantasy or not!) Quorra
So, much of the writing I have done involved video game content, specifically teaching languages through a console platform, but writing copy and editing novels have been fun. GalaxyOrchid
OMG! So excited to have found this. I'm a newbie to the forum, but I'm also a writer. One published (non-fiction) and working on a fantasy fiction. But working on, I should say, has been a 2 year process of writing, crying, writing, crying, delete. Wash, rinse, repeat. But I am determined to finish it. Maybe I should set a date to make it more of "You will finish your first draft on [DATE]" and not "You will finish your first draft... maybe.. some day... eventually.... Aline
Oh, hello fellow writers! I've published several science-fiction and fantasy short stories, and co-authored a couple of non-fiction IT books. I haven't taken new "serious" projects since my second child was born a year ago, though. I only write fanfiction lately. Low stakes, no pulling all-nighters 'cause the deadline is near, better for my nerves. I tried Nanowrimo once years ago, it didn't go very well. I'm a slow writer 1 Quote Link to comment
