I don't know, this all seems more like one of those TV shows were women sit in the kitchen and drink too much wine and talk/ complain/ and drama in the kitchen and then people get mixed around and it happens some more without anything really happening - I'm looking at you Gilmore Girls.

Most accurate description of Gilmore Girls ever. Nothing happens except them making drama for themselves out of nothing and that's too much like real life when you socialise so why do people a) watch Gilmore Girls and b )  socialise? I don't understand people.

If it's not siesta or fiesta, I'm not interested.

I think we may share a sense of humour - I could see myself saying something like that, finding myself hilarious, and being in trouble with less well-humoured family members for years after.

I did have a thing for the Gilmore Girls though, in the early days.  Until I realised that it just made me think I could eat whatever and look beautiful.  I don't like drama for drama's sake though.  When I go into the office I tend to spend a lot of time laughing to myself at the drama some of my colleagues make over stuff.  Someone walked into a door a few weeks ago and broke a toe.  She admits it's all her fault and she was just stupid and walked into the door, but my goodness, the guy who has to make sure the proper form has been filled out, he won't stop going on about it, there's been meetings, etc etc.

All the siblings and their spouses went to my sister-in-laws house to have a meeting about finances, end-of-life care, inheritances, etc.  [As background info., MIL loves drama, being the center of attention, and can never tell if I'm serious or joking].  We were all seated around the dining room table and it was kind of tense.  It felt like the big reveal on a reality TV show.  It started with a long melodramatic speech by MIL.  After a long time I interrupted with, "You know I'll pull the plug."  Everyone looked at me with jaws slightly agape and cracked up.

After that every time it got a bit tense someone would make a joke about it at my expense.  It was a jerk move on my part, but just what the group needed.  MIL was furious with me, but to her credit she kept it inside.  Mrs. Sloth wasn't too happy either.

How nice of you to fall on your sword for the group. ;)

Based on the amount of time I spent in the loo today, the Olive Garden dairy-free menu is full of lies.

We socialize because we are basicly monkeys.  I don't know why people watch the Gilmore Girls.

That's exactly right.  Lest y'all think I'm over-dramatising her love of drama, Mrs. Sloth kept our wedding secret from her mother until she showed up at our door just before the wedding started because Mrs. Sloth didn't want to deal with anything that would be stirred up.

6/21/17 Wednesday

It was a good day.  A real lazy day.  I took a rest day, I don't think I've been training hard enough to need one, but low-cal and platelet donations depleted me.  Slothboy had his dress rehearsal for his ballet recital.  He also did a photo shoot for the school's promotional material.  I brought Twylla to another foster; they'll watch her while we're gone.  This family is already fostering four other dogs.  They're devoted af.  Otherwise I spent a lot of time staring at screens.

ETA: I was wearing a Red Ribbon Ride T-shirt when I was at the bike shop.  A woman wearing a Red Ribbon Ride jersey came up to talk to me about it, but I couldn't interact very well because I was distracted by her beard.

Tomorrow will be busy as we pack up for our trip.

Training:

Yoga - no.

S&S - no.

Riding - 18 miles easy.

Eating - reasonably well.

Spending - I bought another pair of bike shorts.

6/22/17 Thursday

It was a good day.  It was raining when I woke up.  I cancelled my early ride, rolled over, and slept for a couple more hours.  I spent most of the day running errands so we can leave tomorrow.  Slothboy had his dance recital (auto-corrected to rectal lol).  It was good, very cute. I'm still packing and whatnot.  I had planned to do KBs after I finished errands, but it looks like I'll never finish.

Training:

Yoga - no.

KBs - no.

Riding - no.

Eating: Reasonably well, we had dinner at a Chinese buffet near the dance company.  I mostly ate dried-out sushi-like objects and fruit.

Spending: tank of gas, mortgage for next three months - this always freaks me out.

Awesome, I've always felt too awkward to do a MeetUp game.  What are you playing?  I play monthly, but we drink and talk more than we game.  We've been on a Pandemic kick lately.  @TheMostLoathed gave me his Munchkin and I bought QR code sleeves for the cards (one of the guys is blind).  I'm hoping to get that in play next month.  I also joined a new D$D group, but you can't count on that until you're actually rolling dice.

That reminds me, my Father's Day dice.  Mrs. Sloth bought them from a neighbor at a craft fair.  If you can't tell, the red one is a skull and the other two have a dragon molded into the faces.  Based on a couple dozen rolls, they seem random.

Hah.  Not quite, I guess it was more of a lady goatee.

I hate budgeting.  My nature is to spend it all right now and hope for the best, but putting money aside and paying off the mortgage takes a lot of stress off of the summer when we have a lot less money coming in and we're spending a lot more.  Luckily Mrs. Sloth is really good at saving and budgeting and she has enough savings to keep me fed.  :)

This morning I dropped MIL and the slothlings off at the airport.  They'll spend about a week with her doing all of the really expensive touristy stuff we won't do when go down there.

We're about to leave on our roadtrip.  The plan is to sleep at a roadside rest tonight and tomorrow.  With a stop for tacos in between.  We should be on the beach Sunday morning.  I might not be checking in much over the next week, but when you see me again I should have a great tan.

I prefer strategy games. Bought Bloodrage and its one of my favorites.

Met a company at a local convention that makes board games. Games called Sherwoods legacy. Its a tower defense board game with a Robin hood theme which is pretty fun.

Also play a deck building game called eminnent domain which is really fun.

But by far the game that I really loved and is really out there is called Clank. Its a deck building dungeon adventure game where you have to enter the dungeon and grab treasure and escape before the dragon wakes up. I was 1 space from escaping with the most treasure when the dragon finally caught me. Great interactive game and a whole lot of fun.

The meet up is really not that bad. I think its partially because the majority of people at the meet-up are socially awkward so I don't think you'd have a problem. At least the one I go to is, and they are more focused on having a good time than winning. A bit casual for my taste but oh well.

6/23/17 Friday.

It's a good day. We drove from 11 'til 11.  We only made it to Salem Illinois. We're going 78% as fast as gps predicts. The camper, traffic, my bladder, and my aimless wandering of travel plazas is slowing us down.

Only thing of note was dozens of army trucks across Wisconsin and Illinois. All crammed with soldiers in full battle gear including helmets. They looked hot and miserable. I told Mrs. Sloth to flash them so they could take their minds off things, but she's never been one to listen to me.

No training,

good eating,

for the sake of my sanity I'm going to ignore the spending part of my challenge until we return. I still want to keep accts balanced though.

I want to stick up for the Gilmore Girls. It is indeed a ridiculous show, but I pretty much live in that town. I didn't really recognize it until my mom and brother pointed it out to me. They still live in the Chicago area where I grew up (not at all like the show).

We have all those silly little festivals, and I usually know someone when I walk into a store. I even dated the guy that owns the local coffee shop (like on the show). The town is full of smart retired people with too much time on their hands, so lots of people volunteer for good causes, but lots of people also stir up bits of trouble and complain about things. Case in point...the town newspaper...letters to the editor are EXTENSIVE. And wow, there are weird little dramas. But it's mostly a nice little town and I have good friends who look out for me. ,

Anyway, in some ways the show is a more clever version of my actual life. Except for the part about rich parents/grandparents. I don't have those.

Yeah. Originally MIL was going to take the kids for a week a fly them back, but Mrs. Sloth thought we should be in the area in case we needed to rescue the kids or her mom. And when we got the invite to Tank's wedding everything started to fall in place.

Vacation update:

I haven't done any Yoga or KBs. It seems to be the rainy season and I don't have a space to flop around. I haven't spent any money except for gas and Takos. We're miles from the nearest boardwalk so there's no temptation and Mrs. Sloth packed tons of healthy food and we haven't gone out yet. I'm also eating well except for two drinks a day.

6/24/17 Saturday- it was a good day. I slept like a rock at the rest stop. We left a few hours late. Tennessee was a traffic jam all across the state.

We got to Atlanta a few hours after I told @DJtrippyT we'd be there, but she was still willing to meet. She picked out a Takqueria right off the beltway with easy parking. The GPS sent me to the heart of downtown through hellush traffic into the hipster district. It was worth it to hang out  with Trippy and eat Korean Tacos.

No training. We slept in another rest stop.

These days are all kind of the same. We wake up latish, go to the beach and hang  out and play in the surf. It starts to rain after lunch so we hang out in the camper and read (I started and finished American Gods). In the late afternoon we hit the beach again briefly.

Later I go on a 30ish mile ride while Mrs. Sloth goes into town. Each day I get caught in the rain. Sunday, briefly. Monday, a steady rain for a couple of hours, Tuesday, a biblical deluge with lots of lightening for about 5 miles.
