  1. I did a Whole30 last challenge and am interested in learning more about Primal, since it allows dairy - I'd never heard of The Primal Blueprint, so I just reserved it at the library to give it a look! Best of luck!
  2. Hey there! Hope things start looking up for you soon! Is the Nevis Range the same thing as Aonach Mòr?
  3. I can really relate to your goals Though they feel like walking on coals I sure need more sleep And breakfast to eat As I get outside for some strolls!
  4. Speaking of Tolkien and 8-bit Zelda, I bought my brother the original NES Legend of Zelda game on the Wii Virtual Console for my brother's birthday this summer, and I just met Sean Astin at my local Comicon last weekend. Good luck on your challenge!
  5. Wow - 12th challenge! You're living proof of the value of persistence! So in that pic you posted, are you supposed to be Arthur the Moth from the Tick? I really like your learning goal.. I try not to think about where I'd be now if I'd spent time learning instead of browsing silly websites!!
  6. Stickers FTW! Good for you on attempting to go gluten-free. My girlfriend, as well as my son's godmother and her daughter, all appear to be gluten-intolerant.. so your body will certainly be pleased if you manage to hit this goal! Finding gluten-free alternatives for some of your fave foods will help you out. I like the weekly planning goal too! I often feel like I'm just flying thru life by the seat of my pants, so planning would help me out as well!
  7. I look forward to reading your 15-month story, Rostov! (your thread title sounds like a Russian space probe!) I'm also 5'10" and my main quest is to get down to about the weight you are now ~170 lbs or so. I'm currently 223 lbs with one challenge under my belt!

  9. LOL Spongebob! I love that you listed the members who inspired you for each goal - very nice! How do you find FF XIV? I played the Beta but decided not to get the game because I find MMO's a bit spendy and time-consuming.. I've been hearing so many good things about it though! Square Enix needs it to be a success, I reckon, for their financial stability.
  10. Gyro

    Kiwi tris harder

I grew up swimming in cool Canadian lakes and rivers.. quite the difference!
  11. Say hi to Cardinal Ranjith if you see him! What does PT stand for? Look forward to seeing your ongoing challenge results!
  12. Lots of folks seem to be using MyFitnessPal.. a fellow NFer gave me a live demo of it last Monday.. looks pretty useful! Good luck on your procrastination goal.. I sure know what it's like!!
  13. Probably the ceiling monster can be driven off by some exquisite fiddling! Good luck on your goals!
  14. Ah, Pulp Fiction.. I saw that movie 5 times in the theatre Really sensible goals there - I have a sleep goal as well, and I'm three days straight going to bed on time. Shutting down electronics for an hour before hitting the hay really helps me wind down and not be tossing and turning once I'm in my bed. I also use ear plugs to cut out ambient noise.
  15. Nice goals, TankGrrl. I did a Whole30 last challenge and in the future I think I'd migrate towards something like the 80% Primal you mention.. I really enjoy cheese & milk! You're sure right about the procrastination.. it's such a terrible feeling to realize I've just been puttering around online for the last few hours, having accomplished nothing. I certainly like NF for all the clear goal-setting, useful info and encouragement!
  16. Ah, a nice sensible set of goals! I always used to try and accomplish too much on my own, and ended up doing next to nothing, so NF has really taught me to approach goal-setting in a smarter and more sustainable way. Good luck! I'm a real late comer to the Futurama party, having been introduced to it by NF member PartyCannon on Netflix - but oh man it is so good! And of course the same voice actor does both Bender and my current avatar Jake from Adventure Time..
  17. Thanks Matt! I first heard about the Whole30 on NF too. It's like a strict form of Paleo for 30 days, with a 12-day reintroduction period afterwards in order to determine food allergies and sensitivities. The 30 days of strict paleo got me off the junk food and fast food and the 12-day reintroduction confirmed that it was all the grains that were making me feel so tired all the time. It also demonstrated pretty clearly how greasy, oily foods don't agree with my system! And I was simply shocked at how bland and artificial junk food tastes after eating real food for a whole month!
  18. yeah, it's amazing how serene and peaceful that time feels without electronics. I'm trying to ease my 9-year-old into foregoing electronics for 30-45 minutes before his bedtime as well
  19. you got a really nice set of goals there, and yaay superheroes!
  20. I don't know who the Zombies PR guy/gal is, but they sure get a lot of love these days.. for being brain-chompers and all! Best of luck during the challenge, MM!
  21. great goals, GG! hopefully the dating will be something nice to look forward to for you!
  22. really sensible goals! best wishes on those credit card payments. too bad that bowel movements can only be used for a one-time weight loss dip!
  23. Being a good example for my 9 year old is a big motivator for me in these NF challenges as well. Good luck!
  24. LOL! I've been noticing this too Also: http://x.annihil.us/u/prod/marvel/i/mg/7/30/4bb6969c445d8/background.jpg
