I'm thinking about not setting a goal for 2024. It has a tendency to make reading feel like a chore when it is supposed to be a leisure activity.

I run into this all the time when I set reading goals, and its what eventually made me stop. Now I just read for the pleasure of reading, and find that I enjoy it a lot more as a result. :)

“I've always believed that failure is non-existent. What is failure? You go to the end of the season, then you lose the Super Bowl. Is that failing? To most people, maybe. But when you're picking apart why you failed, and now you're learning from that, then is that really failing? I don't think so." - Kobe Bryant, 1978-2020. Rest in peace, great warrior.

Thanks for being on top of this!

I hit my reading goal for 2023 of 50 books. Currently at 51 and have a couple in progress I might finish before Sunday night. But I'm thinking about not setting a goal for 2024. It has a tendency to make reading feel like a chore when it is supposed to be a leisure activity.

This sounds like a reasonable idea. I may consider this as well, considering how this year went for reading for me. ?
