Taking back my life

Recommended Posts

:cheerful:Hello all,

My name is Tiffany and I stumbled upon this awesome website last week but just discovered the rebellion community.

About a year ago, I had a traumatic experience while shopping for a pair of pants. Let's just say, they didn't fit. That experience, along with a work Bio-metric screening, really opened my eyes to how far I've let myself go. After these incidents, I researched and started to slowly change my diet and started working out. And by slowly, I mean SLOWLY. Week 1 - I changed my breakfast. Week 2 - I started adding in more veggies. I think my first attempt at living healthy lasted about 4 months. I can't remember what happened but my motivation just disappeared. This process has happened about 4 times within this last year, all for different amounts of time. While I'm disappointed in myself for failing to continue I'm extremely proud of myself for creating lifelong habits, even if it has taken a year to develop. I've managed to sustain walking for more than 15 mins and even did my first 5k last month. Like I said before, it's taken me a year to get to this point.

So the reason I'm here, is to help myself stay motivated. Over the last year I've managed to lose up to 40lbs but I managed to gain roughly 10lbs back. I still have a whole lot of pounds to lose and things to accomplish! I'm really happy to have found this website and I hope I can find a home here. :star:

@Anduril : I've had this nickname since Jr High sports, it's stuck! :peaceful:

@craig : I was gung-ho in the beginning as well. I've tested out different speeds and found that slow was better for me personally. I feel like it's all about finding what works for you.

Good luck to both of you!
