Xena
Yesterday W-lifts with EC. Today Matrix tiles with EC. My lower back was sore all day yesterday. I'm pretty sure it was the W-lifts...did those bother anyone else?? I've had some prolonged back pain this year, so I was kind of nervous yesterday, but it turned out to just be a muscle tweak. I'm ok today. 1 Quote Xena, Level 14+ Valkyrie Ranger January 2017 December 2016 Oct/Nov 2016 Link to comment
Xena
Star plank done with EC. A slightly vague dare again...arms and legs "as wide as possible" I had them substantially wider than a normal plank. I could have physically moved them wider, but that doesn't seem like a very safe thing for the shoulder. 1 Quote Xena, Level 14+ Valkyrie Ranger January 2017 December 2016 Oct/Nov 2016 Link to comment

I'm wondering if I did them too wide, because I did something to my shoulder/back this morning, and I have no idea what caused it to start hurting out of the blue. Or maybe I was being stupid when I moved something at work. Or my body just hates me. But I really hope it stops hurting, cause I won't be able to do tomorrow's dare like this. It would also be nice to breath without it hurting... Quote Current Challenge: Zeroh, stick to the routine! Link to comment

For very unfamiliar movements, it's worth doing a shorter "test run" or maybe trying a scaled version. (and I'm speaking from experience....those W's were a bad idea for me!) But It's hard to judge, because at the time it didn't feel off (nothing I did yesterday felt off, so it's a bit of a mystery what the true culprit was). And I could have done wider, but my hands/feet tend to slip a lot on the carpet. So if I did it as wide as I'm physical able, I'd just end up face-planting. There's no pain this morning per say, just a lot of soreness. 1 Quote Current Challenge: Zeroh, stick to the routine! Link to comment

The core exercises that have come up a lot in this dare always surprise me! I haven't directly train my core in months and its amazing how much it has developed despite that! The leg raise today got a little shaky towards the minute and I managed to pause my timer (stoopid touch screen watch) so ended up doing slightly more than a minute. There is no way I could have done more than 10 seconds this time last year.
