jerrygerard
Hi!I ran across NF over the summer, fell in love, and basically dropped all of my other workout routines in favor of the ones here. Quick backstory:-43, married with three kids (17, 14, 12)-Scrawny as a kid and teen (less than 150#), ballooned up to 235 in my 20's and 30's.-Tried many things to lose weight, but never got below 195 and went right back up each time.-In February of this year, I started using LoseIt! to record everything I eat and joined a (crappy) gym.-Added a Fitbit in April-Got down to 175 by June-Been around there ever since (but have added muscle)-Ran a 5k, 10-miler, and half marathon this fall (woohoo!)-Went from zero max pullups to 3, max chinups from zero to 5-Got off of three blood pressure meds-Went from XL shirts to M shirts-Went from 36 waist pants to 32I still think I need to lose 10 pounds and get my body fat down (it's around 19% now - need to be below 15%, I think). I still eat a lot of crap (McDonald's iced coffee, McDonald's cones, and other "quick foods" still eaten regularly) so I know most of my work is on the diet side. I also have a terrible habit of waking up in the middle of the night and eating--need to fix that...I want to run a marathon in March, so I need to keep running through the winter. Mostly I want to learn what other folks are doing so I can keep things interesting. My current regimen is:-workout 6 days a week-3 days of NF Dumbbell Division Rank 2 (man do I suck at pistol squats!)-3 runs (20 miles per week average - one run is "long")I probably need to mix it up a bit, but am not sure what to do.Looking forward to hanging out with you guys and doing the challenges. I think I'm a Ranger.Jerry Jerrygerard, level 2 Ranger scout STR 8 | DEX 2 | STA 5 | CON 3 | WIS 3 | CHA 3"We are what we repeatedly do. Laureleye
You have certainly accomplished a lot already. It took me most of the 6-week challenge to work up to doing lunges, but it sure is a great feeling when you're finally able to. The hardest part of the workout is lacing up your shoes'"10 | 11 | 12 | 13 | 14 | 15 | Current Challenge |INTJ | MFP | FitBit Link to comment
