My taper has four days to stop me replacing lifting with rolling in the run up to the British Classic.  Jokes on you Iron Origins, I roll on Friday morning any way.

 

I cant telll if this is untranslateable euro isle speak, or if I am way too drunk to under stand. Im sure I cvan figure it out tomorrow. Sorry

You should have, he would probably have been gentle and helpful and tried to convert you to the ways of grappling.

Squat: 135x3

Squat Drop Sets: 122x3x6

 

This is going back quite a while - but is it my imagination or is this a lot of volume?

 

Confused about drop sets.  I understand drop sets as doing a set, then stripping some weight off, then doing the next set instead of resting.  Your notation says six sets of 3.

six sets of three is correct.

These are drop sets in the sense that the weight is dropped off and they're there to hit a certain level of fatigue.  I'm not at the stage where linear progression doesn't cut it and I need to get smarter.

I'm not at the stage where linear progression doesn't cut it and I need to get smarter.

 

This is good to hear.  :)  It means I should be nowhere close to that stage and linear progression should work perfectly if I am smart about it.  :)

I always thought of those "drop sets" more as back off sets after a single heavy set just to get some more volume. Which would make it something like a max effort workout in the conjugate method. Or maybe I'm reading into it too much.

Well yeah, they are, and it's how I'm getting volume in after a top set.

 

Thursday:

Squat: 140x2, 145x1 - collapsed forward on the second rep because I didn't stay tight.
Squat Drop Sets: 133x2x5
2ct Pause Bench: 80x3
2ct Pause Bench Drop Sets: 76x3x3
Barbell Row: 62.5x6

Barbell Row Drop Sets: 60x6x2

Miss Marissa I think.  She needs to set her arch using thoracic spine mobility rather than on the lower back, once she does that she'll get the bit about engaging her lats and the weight will shoot up.

Yes, Texas.  I'll be looking for good BJJ and Judo places to train there close to the time if any one sees this and happens to know any.

Thursday:
