I thought the end dragged on a little long, but overall I really liked it. I think the strongest point was that the obligatory misunderstanding between the two leads had more to do with them thinking too little of themselves, rather than assuming the worst of the other. I was also recommended Why We Read by Shannon Reed. I responded, "We read because we like it." and was told I just summed up hundreds of pages in one sentence, but then was told to read it anyways because it's very good. AND OH MY GOSH HE REPLIED TO MY EMAIL!!! THAT HE LIKES D&D!!! ??? Sovalis Posted March 25 Report Share Posted March 25 I've just read the first three books in Sarah J Maas' "A Court of Thorns and Roses" series. The first one was serviceable enough, had a stronger ending than I expected it to be. I was lukewarm about continuing, but a friend said the second book was great. It was much more engaging and I flew through it. The third one was alright, but I'm not feeling the pull to the fourth right now. I'll see if I get back to it. Rhythm of War is still staring at me from the coffee table, and I have another dozen or so in my TBR pile. I'm finding I'm not doing well with short daily reading goals, that I'm much more of a binge reader.
