SkiBlue
We should have at least one prose about the traveling before the next go around. My apologizes for lack of dialogue and such. Just wanted to get in a short day of travel before we switch gears. Zamira was the first to rise the next morning. She waited by the window in a wooden chair, waiting for the rest of her group to wake. Tavianna woke next. She was groggy for only a few moments, then spotted breakfast on the table in the room. Before helping herself to some fruit, she went through her usual meditative stretches for the morning. Grogar and Gale woke last, rubbing eyes and running tongues over teeth to work through that cotton-mouth feeling. They didn't complain about breakfast being cold, as they could easily tell the time was late morning when they stumbled out of bed. "I suppose it's time to head on, then?" Gale yawned and stretched after finishing his plate. "Good a time as any," Zamira responded. She rose from her chair to wait by the door. Grogar looked around for his pack and weapons. Zamira watched him with amusement as he lumbered around, checking underneath the beds. He glanced up and gave Zamira a frown. "You could help, you know," he told her. She just shrugged in response. Tavianna shook her head and led Grogar to where he placed his stuff the night before. He nodded gratefully to the druid, who smiled warmly. When everyone was ready, they headed out together in the direction the bartender indicated. Gale had the map as a reference while Zamira scouted ahead along the road through the wilderness. She appeared to not carry anything, but Tavianna held a small rucksack on her back. Gale carried a bigger rucksack, with a short sword at his side and a unstrung longbow as a walking stick. His hawk companion flew through the woods ahead, enjoying the autumn breeze. Grogar was adorned with three swords; a short sword on his right, a bastard sword on his left, and a great sword on his back, underneath his rucksack. Despite being known for his great strength, Grogar could easily trek with his weapons. They marched through the wood mostly in companionable silence. They stopped a bit after midday for a break and lunch. Breakfast wasn't much, so they scarfed down most of what they had on hand, not thinking too hard about the fact that the bartender did say "a few days north." During the break, Tavianna spent some time by a small creek, refilling the drinking water in the party's canteens. She stopped for a few moments, tilting her face up to soak in sunlight, then returned to the party with a fresh kick in her step. As the sun started to set, Gale and his hawk nabbed some small game to cook while Zamira and Grogar started gathering wood for a fire. Tavianna took the game and a few other items from her pack and started cooking over the fire. They gathered around, taking in the savory scent of dinner, while Grogar told epic tales of his feats of strength. They ate heartily, grateful for Tavianna's talent with wild game and spices. Gale took first watch of the night, which was peaceful and quiet until sunrise... 7 Quote LEVEL 1 REBEL Link to comment

SkiBlue
Sorry folks, currently swamped here. Let's just keep logging under the same rules for Week 1 of the challenge as well and I'll bounce back with the next installment of the story on Monday No worries. I think this coincides with the story nicely, as we haven't raked up enough points to get to the village early. 1 Quote LEVEL 1 REBEL Link to comment

Tanktimus the Encourager
TBH I don't really have time for this thread right now either. As a proof-of-concept though, I'd say it was a success. Quote Current Challenge "By the Most-Righteous-and-Blessed Beard of Sir Tanktimus the Encourager!" - Jarl Rurik Harrgath Link to comment

I'm in the same boat and I agree! Maybe we can try again in the upcoming 3 week challenge break gap? 1 Quote forty-seven: Raxie and the Joining of Unlike Things << previous challenges >> >> instagram || goodreads << Link to comment
