You might be unsurprised to learn that I get that a lot. Over the past five years I've built some of the most complex Tableau dashboards that I've ever seen. Bearing in mind complex != good.

This is a little more than a spreadsheet now. I'm manually adding result from Whoop and MFP to a Google Sheet but then I'm feeding that sheet into Tableau Public. It makes it so I can make charts like this.

This is deep nerd stuff and I wouldn't necessarily plan to learn this unless you work in data. If you do, happy to help get you started. 

That calculated vs actual looks pretty good honestly . Looking at the data in a table and seeing the delta all over the place is one thing but on the chart they are similar enough.

It's always going to be tricky to make predictions like that because unless you're being measured under laboratory conditions, calorie burn is always an estimate. You can get pretty close with calories consumed (or very close, if you weight every ingredient to the nearest gram), but calorie burn is a bit harder.

 

How are you measuring your BMR, and what is the Harris - Benedict figure (I've not come across that term before)?

 

I agree with @Shello though; from the graphs it looks like you're already doing a good job of estimating the broad trends in your weight.

OOOOH a maintenance week. I worked out really hard this week so I have FANTASTIC MUSCLES! I also ate a LOT of pasta. It was a good week. This week, I'm going to work out less hard, but get more steps. I'll probably also have a little less pasta, and focus on getting enough protein for my FANTASTIC MUSCLES.

Jumping in here two weeks late given my back issues - I have been cleared to exercise if I can tolerate the pain which remains to be seen, but either way I am going to get my food in order as of tomorrow and my goal is to still lose 12 lbs by 18th March. 

 

I'll do my weigh in tomorrow for my beginning metrics but I am feeling nicely motivated!

05/01: 95.90 kg / 211.4 lbs

15/01: 95.20 kg / 209.9 lbs (- 0.7 / - 1.5)

 

I had expected better results, considering my week.

Weigh-in got postponed from Friday to Monday because I had to get up extra early on Friday and Saturday - and I have a new phone that wasn't paired with the scale yet so I figured it would take longer.

Saturday then was pretty food-heavy, so I opted to wait until today for the weigh-in.

 

While a loss of 0.7 kg (1.5 lbs) is not a bad result at all, it's actually on the low side for a first respawn week for me, especially considering my calorie intake. So I'm hoping there's some residual bloat from Saturday... ?

Starting Weight: 265.1

W1 Jan 8: 264.1 (-1.0)

W2 Jan 15: 263.5 (-0.6)

 

It's not a bad week by any means but disappointed nonetheless.  I was at 263.1, an even pound down, as of Sunday's weigh in and no discernible reason why I would gain based on how the day went.  I'm sure it will catch up.  It didn't help that as I was expecting it to be even lower than 263.1 as I was getting on the scale and then saw the .5, I at first thought I had lost another 0.6 for an added bonus.   Numbers are hard.  According to my long term goal trend, I am in still in compliance, just at the top end.

Bodies are weird, and numbers are hard! I’d focus on yesterdays weigh in and keep moving forward this week.

I appreciate the weekly average compared to the weigh in dates. You’re making great progress, and its neat to see the difference in the numbers. It kinda takes some of the power away from a single weigh in which is fantastic.

I debated that but then figured if I did that that now I'm behind 0.4 already.  I'm hoping it just evens out at the end of the week but if it doesn't I'd take the hit one week or the other.   And I track every weigh in on my own spreadsheet so it hardly matters as long as I keep moving in the right direction

All good so far. I stayed under calories last week, and the results show. I'm also conscious that I didn't drink any alcohol last week. That's not the plan this week, so sticking to calorie targets will be that much more challenging.

I'm up 1.4 lbs this week, my first gain in a while. It might be water from all the pizza and game snacks I had yesterday, things were pretty on point until that happened. I'm not worried about that as much as I'm feeling some blahs and noticing myself thinking "what's the point" a bit lately. Think I need to spend some time reviewing my Big Why and seeing if it's still where my heart is.

I did weigh myself yesterday, I just didn't get a chance to post.

 

Back up the half pound I lost last week. :(  While I'm not pleased with that, it's also not unexpected given the time of the month and the fact that my eating has slipped a little bit.  Going to get back on top of that, and hopefully see some real progress next week.

12-31:  218.7 lbs  (start)

01-07:  218.5 lbs  (-0.2)

01-14:  216.5 lbs  (-2.0)

 

Pretty solid week that ended super weird, so that number is an interpolation.  Friday morning I was down to 215.4, but after a jumbo Saturday my official weigh-in on Sunday morning was 217.5.  I have elected to split the difference for this week.  That 215 number was so pleasing that I decided to loosen up over the 3-day weekend (the end of Staycation), and it showed.  I'll tighten the controls again, and I should be able to crack that 215 in the week ahead.

Late posting due to no internet and life being hectic but I have weighed every day! This is Monday's weight, despite the late post. Things have been a little iffy this week. Our pipes have been frozen so we've been rationing water. Food has been cozy soups which aren't ideal, but not horrible either. No workouts this week due to lack of water to shower after. Not going outside unless it's to refresh the heaters for the pumphouse (I've maintained a dribble and even had enough flow for a very lackluster shower for each of us by doing that!) or gather more firewood, certainly not to run! Hopefully we'll be above freezing, even overnight, starting Sunday so I guaranteed have a shower before I go and get sweaty.

 

I'll be happy if I simply manage to maintain from this week to next. I need to plan out my meals and grocery list for next week here soon. I'm going to have to have some good food motivation to get my butt back in the grove of daily workouts after taking this cozy week off. Chilling by the fire in sweatpants and eating homemade soups and breads sounds loads better than going out into the cold to run hills!

Whoops, forgot to post on Friday when I did the weigh-in.

 

05/01: 95.90 kg / 211.4 lbs

19/01: 94.15 kg / 207.6 lbs (- 1.05 / - 2.3)

 

These were pretty much the results I had expected the previous week, so... back on track?

This was despite a week of lower activity. Because of the snow and icy conditions, there were fewer walks than usual, especially on Wednesday to Friday, which are generally the days where I get the most walking done. And I opted to work from home on both Thursday and Friday because Belgium doesn't exactly have a good track record of keeping smaller roads and bike paths clear when it has snowed. I had no intention of risking falling with my bike, so working from home was safer. But working from home - especially if I don't go on walks either - leads to very few steps and very little calorie expenditure...

Sunday was a meet-up with our friends at our place, so it turned into a food extravaganza as usual. And now we have plenty of leftovers in the house, so next week's results are going to be iffy... ?
