Time to Frakking Do This!

Recommended Posts

The infamous introduction post! Heya everyone. First thing I gotta do is this:

Warning: Request for non-spoilers! I have not finished watching the series, so don't give me any spoilers please. ;)

Yeah, I hopped on the BSG fan-wagon years late. I tend to do that. (I still have two episodes of Firefly to knock off my list too.) So, combining my love of BSG with my love of hockey - I become Starpuck. Yeah, it's nerdy. But I hear this is the right place for that. :P

Quick sum up. I'm a 35 year old chick who grew up super active, not afraid of playing rough or getting dirty and fell into love with typically guy things. Never had an issue with weight until the dreaded office job-raiding guild combo. UGH. That said, I've been successful in the past, lost 65lbs with Weight Watchers. 'Quit' the diet. Gained 30 back. Lost it again through common sense. Gained 25 back. Lost 15 again. So on and so forth. I want to get healthy. I'm one of those 'wow, she's so active' types that really isn't eating the way she should be, and I have plenty of "muscle-protecting" fluff in various locations on my person. I want to get into a life-lasting routine and habit of being healthy.

I work an office job. I play hockey for a women's league up to twice a week. I roleplay twice a week (currently Deathwatch and Rogue Trader), hit a womens only boxing gym once a week, bowl every other week and am recently addicted to Civ 5 (thanks guy friends for throwing /that/ crack at me.)

If I had to list the single biggest hurdle for me, it's that while I LOVE good, wholesome food. My brain doesn't seem to be wired for making it, or planning ahead for it. All best intentions fall by the wayside. So that's what I really need to work on.

I'm anxious to meet like-minded NF Rebels here, and get some support and motivation. Though... I gotta say, looking through the classes, I can't for the life of me figure out what I'd be. Jack of all, master of none... clearly I should be bard. Any ideas on where I might best mold into?

Good to meet you all and hope to get cracking on this!

Welcome!

I believe 'jack of all, master of none' might make you a ranger, as they seem to do a bit of everything.

I love the phrase 'muscle-protecting fluff', going to have to find a way to use it myself.

Second on the Ranger class. If nothing else, it'll give you some time to play around until you figure out where you really fit best (that's my excuse anyways :P ). Good luck in your ventures!
