It's interesting that it seems to lag about a week behind the point in time, in terms of changes. If I have a week to week big drop, the average seems to show it the week after. So, we'll see if my average barely drops to next week. I'm still striving towards 195 but I had a couple legitimate food logging mistakes last week (messing around in the wrong day or not logging something then remembering it at the end of the day) that put me a couple hundred over on those days. I had my first complete "screw it" experience. I haven't had another time where I just felt compelled to go get food that was definitely outside the scope of my meal plan but Thursday I was driving around after lifting, getting some groceries and needed something and stopped at McDonalds for a Quarter Pounder, Medium Fries (Whatever comes in the default combo), and a Diet Coke. It was interesting to log it and see that this somewhat insubstantial meal was 800 calories but it put me 500 over on the day. I also worked on juggling my macros and macro timing to get some carbs in before my workouts. I haven't quite got the whole thing figured out so some extra calories are creeping in because I'm not leaving enough leftover calories for supper, the most highly variable meal of my day. My Sunday weigh in was a little better and I was very close to hitting that pound. But I made home made biscuits for brunch Sunday and didn't log the recipe until later in the day and realized they were more calorie dense than they felt. Or something. Either way, I was shocked to have gained between Sunday and Monday again. Thinking about the disappointing week though and I did eat an obscene amount of bars I made for work middle of the week and had a craving for Pepperjax gril on Saturday that we indulged. If I could get away with that and still lose, I guess I'm winning Totally worth it in retrospect. I'm tired of this trend though. Just Look at that plateau! I'm over it. There are no shenanigans planned this week so that will help. I might have got away with keeping last week's weight, but I accidentally had two massive meals yesterday and finished the week almost 1,000kcal over target as a result. The start of this week is all about damage control, as I've got a colleague's leaving do on Friday, tapas out for my birthday on Saturday, and then lunch out on my actual birthday on Sunday. I plan to enjoy all of that, but I can set up the start of the week to mitigate its effects somewhat. I was also surprised that for someone who takes electrolyte supplements or I get cramps that the weight bounce hung on for a couple days. I reviewed my journal and apparently my eating was crazy for 10 straight days after the Feb 11 weigh-in. I've been reeling it back in now for 11 straight days, which makes a nearly one-for-one recovery. That's much better than the impression I've been carrying of needing 3 weeks to bounce back from 1 week off. The coming week should see me overtake my previous low--that'll be very nice, indeed. Definitely not going to make my target for this PVP, but I'll be fully geared up and cruising for the next one. Sometimes the scale gives you nice surprises apparently? I stuck to the plan, and kept calories low early in the week to the point that I dropped to 163.8lbs by Saturday morning. After 4,000kcal on Friday, and another 3,750 on Saturday I'd pretty much used my weekly calories. As Sunday was my birthday I didn't track, and just grazed on chocolate most of the day which was really nice to do for a change. I ate cake! I exercised more! I was sick most of the week with bad PMS! I got insomnia! I am hoping this week things settle down in my body.
