2024, January 1- March 18: Weight Loss PVP: 10 or 12 lbs in 10 or 12 Weeks!

Not super happy with this, but it feels accurate - the scale has been bouncing around between 176 and 177 all week. I was hoping I'd see a little more come off, but my eating wasn't the best this week so I guess this is where we are. Final goal for the challenge is 175 which is still possible (I saw 174 on the scale last week but apparently my body decided that was a fluke) so I guess we'll see how this next week goes. 

You're still making progress downwards, and out of the 180's. I'm excited to see where you land next week!

Snarky, I am so grateful for the spreadsheet. I have been feeling flummoxed by the scale lately and it’s been really great this morning to look over the spreadsheet and see that progress has been happening (over seven pounds down!) since we started, even if the last few weigh-ins have been rollercoaster numbers.

YAY! I'm glad you're feeling good about your progress and that the spreadsheet is a good tool for you!  I like seeing the bigger picture with it too! The spreadsheet makes me happy because it was definitely a group effort between TimovieMan, TheMostLoathed, Rurik, and myself. The Most Loathed really came in for me late at night to help write code for it before we could share it! 

 

If you really want to feel good, check out the last PVP spreadsheet too. You've BEEN making amazing progress EVEN THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS. You've got a lot to be proud of, friend.

I did it!  Well, not the first (or even second) "it", but the one I hoped to see once my initial goal became unobtainable.  I didn't think I'd get to see 210 on the scale this week, but it barely squeaked in.  I'll take it!  That's almost 8 lbs in 11 weeks, which isn't horribly offensive given that I had to re-lose the initial 6 pounds again with just 4 weeks remaining.  2024 hasn't proved to be the smoothest year so far, but with all the challenges I've still managed to forge ahead and get back on the horse each time I've fallen off.  Maybe it's time to get a new horse?  :D

 

Thanks for all the support and encouragement again, y'all.  I appreciate the accountability this group provides which is definitely helping to keep me in the game.

been ill this last week so just weighing to see where i am baseline wise. 

edit: reweighed just to double check. Total weight loss 11.8lb!

 

Ive found this weekly weighing club really helpful. Not something id ever be able to do in person (i dread standing on scales in front of people). But watching everyone elses weights fluctuate normally has allowed me to be more forgiving of variations in mine. 
also the cheering is very encouraging so thanks everyone for the support.

This weekend, I absolutely blew my nutrition plan, and I'm also really bloated. I didn't get weighed any other day, so I can't even say "You should've seen my scale Saturday!! :D 

 

I struggled during this PVP. This changing over to a new one will be a good opportunity to mentally shift back and start losing weight again. :)

The new PVP will be up tomorrow or the next day! In the mean time, I hope everyone has a good final weigh-in!

Well having said I was going to try and drop 2lbs this week to hit my weight goal, I promptly ate 5 pieces of homemade rocky road on Monday and blew my calorie buffer for the week on that :lol:

 

So I didn't hit my goal, but I did lose 9.5lbs in 11 weeks, which I'm really happy with. Will be interested to see how my waist measurement has changed when I do that later - I know I'm down a couple of notches on my belt.

 

Also want to echo everyone else's comments about how great this group is - that weekly accountability really keeps me on track with this, and when I've had weeks of weight gain it's really useful to see the overall trend to remind me that this is working.

Given spring break and the kids being around (with all their delicious treats which tempted me), I'm pretty happy to have maintained. I've managed 66% of my goal for a total of 5.3lbs lost for this and that's perfectly okay! A lot changed during this: went from alternate day carb cycling to a paleo/primal focused way of eating. Went from aiming to run 3 days a week in preparation for this 10k in April to strength training 4 days a week while only running once, if that. My goal of 8 was really a stretch and I knew I'd be happy simply by reaching the 140s and that is a success.

 

Here's to much more success for us all!

Other numbers I saw on this scale this week: 174.4 and 175 so I know I'm headed in the right direction. I'm happy to take today's number and celebrate a 9 lb loss from where I started at the beginning of January.

 

This group has been so good for accountability. I only joined halfway but it was super motivating knowing I was going to check in with you all on Monday, and seeing the progress week by week. I'm excited to have busted out of the 180s rut I was in when I joined the challenge and can't wait to join you all in the next round! ❤️

Bonus update: I measured yesterday evening and I'm down 2" on my waistline. That's about a 5% reduction in waist measurement, and I've no idea if that's high or not but it sounds good to me!

I am slightly late, and probably everyone has moved to the new thread, but whatever.  I'm here and I'm posting my results!  Down 0.7 this week.  I think it "should" have been more, but hopefully that will show up for the next one.  Last week I ate something that didn't agree with me, and my innards were incredibly displeased.  I will spare you the details, but the result was I was extremely bloated, and it's not fully worked out yet.  Which is why I was a day late, because I knew yesterday was a fake high weight, and also why I think today's weight "should" have been a bit lower.  Oh well.

 

Total results: 1.8lbs lost!  Which...isn't a lot, but I think things are finally starting to slowly trend down rather than staying the same.  Also, I lost half an inch off my waist and my clothes are fitting better, so that's pretty awesome too!  On to the next challenge!

Still, I'm down 2.7 lbs since the start, so at least I'm not up.

And with spring around the corner, it's time for a proper respawn instead of the half-hearted attempts I've done this year. On to the new thread!
