@jmk: most of this was all shoved in a bag, but everything from the last few days was shoved under my sink. It's amazing how much shit one can shove into a single storage cabinet if they want to badly enough

In light of the fact that I have missed the last several days of this game, as well as DESPERATLY needing to clean my tiny apartment, I will be doing a mad man cleaning, getting rid of anything I can possibly live without. This should probably only take me three hours, unless I get distracted...which I will. So more like seven hours, but I digress. The goal is to finish this game in one fell swoop!

I don't remember the specifics of which 11 items I torched yesterday, but I know I did it.  Lame, I know, but there you have it.  I've been busy!

 

Today I organized a purge to get me through the next four days of work because I will be too busy to go through belongings over the weekend.  That might be somewhat against the spirit of the PvP, but it's the best I can do with the time I have available!

 

So, with that in mind...

Saturday

• 13 CDs from my high school days.

Sunday

• 14 more CDs of a bygone age.

Monday

• 7 CDs.
• 8 miscellaneous items from my junk drawer in the old bedside table that I would not have ordinarily discarded otherwise (i.e., not counting the regular garbage I trashed).

Tuesday

• 8 more misc items from the junk drawer.
• 2 old pill bottles I've been holding onto for far too long.
• 3 items from my valet tray (old iPhone-HDMI cable, Oyster card from London, and 1 Cuban peso I had been hoarding for no good reason).
• 2 ratty crossword books.

So I just purged for Thursday, friday and today - 36 items!  Some clothes, stuff from the kitchen, a few old manuscripts - didn't write it all down.  But it happened, and I'm all caught up!

Day 14's 15

3 headbands that are too loose for my little peanut head

End of week 2. The obvious things are now gone.

Got rid of 13 things yesterday and 14 today.  I think I can keep going!

I got rid of ~35 things today (I accidentally lost count, oops) - holey socks, holey undies, holey jeans... and wonder of wonders, I can close my dresser drawers now without them jamming up! WHOA

 

This puts me at something like [138/903]. I can't rightly remember anymore.

Clothes, SOCKS (I had no idea I had more than a dozen pairs of socks tucked away to mend! Yeah, right, who am I fooling? Like I am going to have the time to sit and darn socks...), a side trip through the pantry just to get away from clothes for awhile, oh and all those worn out jeans, T-shirts, and polos that were bagged up to cut into strips for rag rugs and/or crocheting into potholders and whatever. Great recycle ideas for things that were past the point of donating, but not very realistic given my current lifestyle.

 

I ran out of time to clean more in the bathroom, so my reward of a new shower curtain is on hold until that is done. 

 

There's still plenty left to get rid of, but it is getting emotionally harder. Plan to tackle the more sentimental clothes and jewelry tomorrow, then move on to the kitchen.

I got rid of my 12 things on Friday. I was short on time, so I didn't write it down, but it was random things like a couple of ties, old underwear, and I can't remember what else. I didn't go out on Saturday, and Sunday was filled with mom duty stuff, so today I'll be dropping off day 13, day 14, and day 15 stuff. Total: 42

I've been on a bit of a mental sabbatical, realizing that I really need to make my life simpler. So from now on, I'm just going to count my stuff.

I want my garage back, so I might get a bit ahead.

I got rid of a bunch of stuff - I think I'm two or three items shy, but I'm not going to sweat it

 

Roommate's room got cleaned out (!!!!!!!!!!!), and the apartment feels so much nicer!  Also, I don't think I'm going to do a big purge before camp, b/c I honestly don't think I'll have time...

Day 15 - aka the last day of bathroom crap!

 

Today's 15:

Lotion and body spritz that I love, but don't really use - I have moved these same 2 bottles 3x now. 

A huge eyeshadow palette thing that I love in theory but don't use outside of halloween

Extra gloves - I split most of this box up between the kitchen (where I really need them) and the bathroom (for hair dyeing) - this is the overflow

Half empty soap I know will languish in the shower for months if I leave it to the DH to dispose of

Face powder that I *had* planned on hanging onto - just in case - because it smelled like my grandmother

Some random part to something 

An extra razor head

Another eyeshadow sample that I use sometimes but don't need

2 more perfume samples - both of scents I like, but don't use

Half-empty pack of gauze I've used periodically over the years, but have moved to 5 separate apartments now

Another face mask - I really only need to have 1 at a time

An old razor

Cologne I bought my DH but he's never worn

And bonus: a nail brush

 

And everyone is in on this minimalism tip - I had most of these items hanging out in the corner of the bathroom, waiting to accrue 15. The dog dragged this face mask the DH hated over to the pile and lined it up right beside the box of gloves -- his contribution to the purge.

Shadowlion my grandma taught me how to darn socks.

1 take the holey sock firmly in both hands

2 repeat after me "darn darn darn"

3 walk to the garbage can

4 toss them in as you repeat after me again "darn darn darn"

I got rid of a box of old cds for software I've not had in years (a router i got rid of 5 years ago? A blood sugar monitor i got rid of 6 years ago? ) like 10 cds. Also a big stack of notes from church services. I've been saving them with the INTENT to go through and type them. Sigh. Some of them are 8 years old. I've never looked at them again. And i don't understand what i meant. I tossed them.

hmmmm... sent by magic.... or fairies.... or small woodland creatures maybe? how does this thing work?

Day 14/15/16

Miss a day and you can get behind very fast. There are over 30 items here. I also cleaned out my nightstand and threw away piles of old receipts, journals and junk equaling more than what I needed to get caught up!
