I thought about taking a picture of the hoard (I did say I would) but I just wanted it all gone. I actually had a few pangs of regret, for clothes that were gifts and stuff. It was weird. Today, I'll start on my craft room. It's probably the second hardest after clothes. Maybe third hardest, because books. An acquaintance of mine, (and fellow "yarn nut") was driving through the parking lot as I was pulling an armful of yarn out of my trunk (to give to the school). Her eyes lit up, and I just handed it over to her. I've had a hard time letting go of it because it's a really nice yarn... I just hated the color. I just basically handed over about $150 dollars worth of yarn, and because she really appreciated the quality of it and actually liked it, it felt good to let it go. Still not making much of a dent in the pile in the garage. :{. and there are still rooms that I haven't even started to clear out yet! There are a couple of big things to go, like a dresser, and some chairs and an old TV that will help make things less overwhelming. I foisted off a pile of art supplies to a friend, because I just don't sketch or paint anymore. That was some nice paper and oil, but like your friend, her eyes got so big and excited when she dug thru my stash. I did have to back off from the sentimental items to do it, though. I resorted to the office and kitchen to get my quotas in as there has just been too much difficult in my life the last week or so to try and do that on top of it all. I'll see how the next day or two goes, and then see if I am up for tackling the really tough stuff or whether I will keep working in the office and kitchen a while longer. I can keep this game going quite a bit past the 30 days I suspect. I haven't even gotten to the arts and crafts hoard or THE PIT yet. Beware, fellow packratters, and learn from my example.
