A new nerd enters the HQ

Recommended Posts

Knock, knock, anybody here? Ah, there you are.

First a bit about myself. I am a 23yo female halfling: a bit short, neither thin nor fat. However, my strength and endurance are not as good as I want them to be. I am very prone to injury, so I have to start really slow if I start any exercise program or my joints will hurt a lot.

Two weeks ago, I started running three times a week, and I hope that I'll be able to run 15 minutes six weeks from now. Today I started the Beginner Body Weight Workout from NF, my goal is to be able to complete it also six weeks from now.

The goal of working out is twofold for me: on the one hand, it helps me grow confidence. Everytime I can check off a running training I feel good about it, and it is also very stimulating to see that I slowly get better. On the other hand, I hope that I will get more fit through exercising, so that I'll be ill less often, have more energy throughout the day, etc.

I have joined the Rebellion for accountability and motivation. I have started to work out several times in the past, but every time I got injured at some point, and after that I had no motivation anymore to start again. It's like dying over and over again in a video game, the first few times you try again, but after some point you just quit and do something more rewarding.

However, I think this forum and NF can really help me stay motivated, even on bad days :). It is good to see that everyone struggles, but that many manage to get to lvl2 and higher at some point.

Welcome to the rebellion! I know this place has helped to keep me on track when I don't necessarily want to be ;)
