madbethcash
Hi All! I've been perusing the NF website and forums for a week or two now and had a question so signed up to participate! I'm a young woman, found myself with some free time on my hands and decided I should start exercising more - started with the couch-to-5K program and then began looking into proper and efficient weight/strength training on my non-running days, which is how I came to NF. Currently tracking my workouts on Fitocracy, doing the NF "Beginning Strength Circuit" (body weight squats, lunges, push-up, etc.) - waiting until I can get to the end of three sets with 20 squats and 20 lunges with perfect form before moving on to bar work. Today should be W3D1 on c25k - I got waylaid with a serious cold last week and made no gains. I don't have any weight loss goals currently but have struggled with EDs and exercise regimens in the past. I think this time will maybe stick as a lifestyle change since I have gotten my eating habits under control. I'm a vegetarian and love me a nice green smoothie, mozzarella/tomato sandwiches, and eggs florentine. I'm excited about being a part of this community, learning from it and hoping to give back as I learn more! My current longer-term fitness goals are to run a 5K (there's one in my town at the end of April I have my eye on) and to do a pull-up! 2 Quote current challenge Link to comment
Basement Cat
Welcome to the rebellion, Madbethcash! Couch to 5-k is good from what I hear. If you want to put a nerd spin to it, try the "Zombies! Run!" app. I hear it really adds to the experience. The beginnner bodyweight workout is really good. Good luck with your goals and keep us posted! Quote Current form: Chubby House Cat (lvl4) Weight objective: 20% S. 4 P. 6 E. 4 C. 7 I. 8 A. 4 L. 5 Battle log Current Challenge Handy linky. madbethcash
Thanks guys! I actually think I'll be moving to using a bar for a few squats, deadlifts, bench press this week.... very exciting! There's a gym in my apartment building that has this big cube with hooks and a bar on it which looks like you can move things around and it will "spot" for you... any tips or tricks on how best to utilize that machine?
