We're all little fairies and elfs, trying to level up our housekeeping magic. For the duration of this challenge we can gain level ups by earning experience points through practicing our magic (read; doing actual housekeeping). There are four ways to earn these experience points; by doing seven weekly general cleaning tasks (like flylady's home blessing) by doing daily missions (for example the flylady ones or your own versions) by joining in on the bi-weekly boss battles (setup will be like the guild mini-challenges) by posting before/after pictures To join this pvp all you have to do is introduce yourself, pick an original color, put your name + color on the overview form of this excel sheet, and then add a tab for yourself simply by copying the one I put in (got trouble? Just let me know and i'll do it for you). Don't worry about making the values end up in the overview sheet, i'll work that out if/when everyone agrees with the setup. Every 10 experience points are a level-up. The person with the highest level at the end wins this PVP.Any thoughts on rewards? Besides the pvp aspect you can also set yourself up with a reward system for level ups earned! Those keep me going and give me the motivation to do the other stuff.Not sure about the daily missions though. I rather do the detailed cleaning for that area once a week. Let's FLY! Nymeria Posted July 23, 2015 Report Share Posted July 23, 2015 I'm in, of course! I'm not sure how to add daily routines. On one hand, it kind of intersects with the weekly home blessing. On the other, if I focus too much on flylady daily missions, I can then sometimes neglect my daily chores that need to be finished, like dishes, wiping the table, etc. Maybe one way to handle this is to just give 1 XP for every 15 or 20 minutes of routine, daily cleaning. People who choose to do the Flylady home blessing can just time it and use the same XP formula. For the daily missions, I think we should stick with what we've done in the past, which is that it doesn't matter if you do them out of order or do multiple missions in the same day (if you're in a good cleaning groove), as long as they get done. That way, people who want to lump the missions into a once/week detailed cleaning would get the same credit as someone like me who wants to break it down into a daily chore. Terah Posted July 23, 2015 Report Share Posted July 23, 2015 I imagine everyone has tasks that have to be done daily (like emptying the dishwasher, doing a load of laundry, checking your schedule etc.) and tasks that have to be done weekly (like vacuuming, dusting etc.). You don't have to do all your weekly tasks at once, but you get your XP when you have finished them all. And you get XP for finishing all your daily tasks every day. If that makes sense? Maybe KBgirl to address the not working on what you need to, you either need to follow Flylady's routine or write out at the beginning of the week what your tasks are. That should help to keep it focused. I think at the beginning of the challenge, we should each identify what our personal daily routine should look like, what our weekly cleaning routine should look like, and then have extra decluttering or deep cleaning missions, as in Flylady. If someone is still struggling, then the daily and weekly routines could be something smaller or simpler to help with building the habit of cleaning. We don't all have to do the same things or even comparable work for the XP, since we're all in different places with our cleaning habits and we all have different home structures. For example, in my case, the daily routine should be: dishes, laundry (when needed), wipe kitchen counters, wipe dining room table, and sweep around dining room table and kitchen. But someone who is struggling might just have dishes as the daily chore. And someone who is neater than I am might have several other things to add to the list. And my weekly routine is (well it isn't, but it should be ): sweep all floors, at least lightly clean all bathrooms, dust, empty trash, purge fridge of spoiled food, and probably a few other things. And then flylady missions would be extra cleaning on top of that. I also like EG's idea of establishing your own "flight plan" at the beginning of the week as to what these missions might be. Maybe, to keep things simple, 1 pt for each day the daily routine is completed, 1 point for each flylady or alternate mission (up to 5), and 3 points for completion of the weekly routine. 3 Quote Level 30? who the hell knows anymore? Each mini boss could be some task really that isn't too huge (like it would maybe take 30-60 minutes to do), but for whatever reason, you've been procrastinating and avoiding it for a long time. I better prepare my lists. I've been following flylady's list but I think if I modify them better for me it might make it easier for me to get to it every day.
